Years active from 1976

[edit]

How is it that he has been active since 1976? It is not mentioned in the article that his career started 1976. It says in the article that he joined The Nosebleeds in 1977. TJ Lusitanias (talk) 15:17, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Monochrome Set Influence

[edit]

It is vital to include information on the Monochrome Set as Johnny Marr has stated in the past, no Monochrome Set no Smiths. https://www.cccb.org/en/participants/file/the-monochrome-set/214217 Aradicus77 (talk) 22:32, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New infobox photo?

[edit]

Since this is a high traffic article I will put this here first before making any changes. This page deserves a newer photo since the current infobox photo is almost 20 years old.

2005 - Current photo

2023 - Proposed newer photo

A newer photo is available and using such better represents the current appearance of the person in question. PascalHD (talk) 06:21, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support The current photo is far too old, and while his appearance hasn't drastically changed (mainly gray hair and wrinkles), the 2023 photo presents him as how he currently looks. Dantus21 (talk) 23:55, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Status quo: If those are the only options, keep the current one. The shadows around his eyes makes it look ridiculous. Seasider53 (talk) 00:02, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Status quo: Suggested replacement makes him look like a racoon. gilgongo (talk) 14:54, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

full name?

[edit]

ive read in a few places that his full birth name is actually 'Steven Patrick Francis Morrissey'. is this true? 2601:406:5000:D750:FC5A:F3BF:7278:DDB5 (talk) 07:25, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

These sources says his full name is as you say:https://www.irishmirror.ie/showbiz/irish-showbiz/morrisseys-heartbreaking-message-fans-irish-22499277 , https://sv.findagrave.com/memorial/214581186/elizabeth_anne-dwyer , NME has similar article as Irish Mirror and https://thepostmillennial.com/morrissey-fans-reach-out-to-share-their-grief-over-his-mothers-passing. I am not sure how noteworthy any of those sources are. TJ Lusitanias (talk) 14:18, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should we change in the article to include "Francis"? Sources good enough? TJ Lusitanias (talk) 08:17, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Francis is most probably his confirmation name – it has not been included on any of the official documents that have surfaced online 145.14.45.14 (talk) 10:55, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
