Thanks. I was afraid of running into the paywall and I had difficulty telling which article was which on the web site. I think ProQuest may have different wording becaise the web site articles are always getting updated.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 23:06, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I would like to understand why you considered the reference to two of the most important websites related to John Muir was considered "spam." As I explained in the rationale for adding these sites as External Links for the entry on John Muir, the omission of a link to John Muir Exhibit website seems to be a major oversight, as that site is considered by numerous scholars the largest repository of writings about John Muir, cited by dozens of published books, and even seen by the University of the Pacific John Muir Papers (which is included) as an important resources. Similarly, the link to the John Muir Global Network, a portal to websites featuring Muir around the world, seems too important to omit, given that Wikipedia is intended to incorporate more than just "original" sources but to cite to "what others are saying about the topic" at hand, in this case John Muir. These are not just some random sites, but rather sites that have been devoted the the topic for many decades, and frequently referenced in scholarly articles. Thanks. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hadlock Field. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. User:Namiba 19:08, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I share the same concerns regarding the quality (and apparent activism) behind this user’s edits. I am similarly concerned with this user’s consistent disregard for citing source materials. This user appear to be a non-native speaker of English, with more enthusiasm than their intelligence can extend to. 75.161.56.205 (talk) 20:41, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I reported them, but there was a backlog that day, so the request was deleted by a bot. Will report again if needed. Seasider53 (talk) 20:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Preston and Wyre Joint Railway, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Preston.
