Metronet Class 66s?

[edit]

Should mention be made on this page of the Class 66 locos being used by Metronet for engineering works? Thryduulf 16:21, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No they should not. These engines are hired not owned. LU once hired BR class 25's and even thought about buying three but they should not be here either as this article is about the LU diesels. Jsp3970 05:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly disagree on this removal, the class 66's will be seen on LU metals for a considerable time. It's not about ownership but about use on this particular railway with all it's peculiarities. The use of class 66's is special since they are basically mainline locos on a metro-network. If you want you could add the other diesels that have operated. By the way, the Schöma's are owned by Transplant, not LUL, so they wouldn't count as well in your definition. Ysignal 20:21, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see I reverted you deletion. My arguments are shown above. As Thryduulf asked, i made mention of these locos, there is a wikilink to the BR Class 66 locos for info about these particular machines. In this article i only explained their presence on LU. Since reverting what I consider your erroneous inclusion of the Class 66 would only result in you, or someone else reverting my revertion (again) I will not delete it as I have no desire to get into a revert war. I did however make a couple of changes. First I put it into a section 'Leased Locomotives' and deleted the technical data of the locomotives, instead adding a note where a reader can go for further info. I do believe that you could well open a Pandora's box by adding the 66's here as there were LT trains running on BR tracks and vice versa for many years, indeed the GWR, LMS, and LNER owned tube cars as they ran on their respective tracks. Also if you were the one that editied my talk page in the future please sign it with four ~. Jsp3970 14:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
