– English Wikipedia does not have any years articles for U.S. states. Per article title policy, specifically WP:QUALIFIER, we only disambiguate with topics covered in Wikipedia (emphasis mine), so these titles should not include parenthetical disambiguation. It does not make sense for these to be disambiguated when the base names do not exist, nor is it consistent with policy for the base name to redirect there (see WP:MISPLACED). The best we can do to address astonishment for those seeking content on the U.S. state is likely to use hatnotes to link to History of Georgia (U.S. state) or the appropriate section of it. Note that the articles for years 2018, 2019, and 2020 were previously boldly moved by Oeoi for this reason. Oppose per WP:PRECISE. Every year happened in the U. S. state too. MISPLACED does not apply as the redirects don't presently exist. And to be perfectly honest, I think proposing a move with an essay written entirely by oneself is somewhat misleading of community consensus on the matter. estar8806 (talk) ★20:48, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Community consensus is reflected in policy, here WP:QUALIFIER. Explanatory essays, by definition, are not meant to reflect community consensus, but to explain interpretations of policy and guidelines, and are linked in discussions to avoid the need to make the same arguments over and over again. Oppose per those above. It is absolutely conceivable that we could have articles describing events by year in the U.S. state of Georgia, which is a large and eventful state. BD2412T00:24, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support. We are never likely to have such articles for the other Georgia, any more than it would make sense to have an article on its "leaders" (see above)... We have List of governors of Georgia and do not need to disambiguate that either. Disambiguate if and when we need to. Andrewa (talk) 21:48, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
