Talk:List of stereoscopic video games
Disputed tag
[edit]basically i'm disputing the entire article, well except the list in that those games were made for said platform.陣内Jinnai 22:35, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah... can you clarify what you mean by that? News stories about these games call it stereoscopic, they all coming with 3D glasses. If you see any specific statement you think needs a reference to prove itself as true, tag it. I removed the part about Sly being the oldest game of this type, after finding one that came out before that. Dream Focus 01:44, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think i did, but the bot removed it. Basically the second sentence in the first paragraph and the 2nd 1 sentence paragraph. Especially the 1 sentence.陣内Jinnai 02:53, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Here's the diff. Apparently, the SmackBot consolidated Jinnai's {{or}} tags into {{Article issues}} and moved it to the top. --Mokhov (talk) 03:05, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

- Why does this sentence need a citation?
- Not to be confused with 3D computer graphics, which are featured only on a screen, and do not actually give the illusion of something reaching out to the viewer in a third dimension.
- Did you see the article it links to? Its important to show the difference between these 3D games, which are real 3D, unlike things previously called them. Do you doubt the statement is true? This is different than other games, because you have the illusion of real 3D, instead of just something on a 2D screen. Dream Focus 12:15, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's a legacy sentence from the original article's location and attempts to salvage it before the move. Go to it and feel free to update to a more proper one. --Mokhov (talk) 13:37, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- I added it in a few day ago [1] and then updated it after the name change. It is still relevant information, a reader would need to know. What makes this three dimensional game different than all the others that call themselves 3D? I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Can I get a third opinions please? Dream Focus 15:59, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- and do not actually give the illusion of something reaching out to the viewer in a third dimension - that statement needs to be backed up as the article it links to doesn't really support that.陣内Jinnai 20:15, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

Found stereoscopic game that came out before Sly
[edit]I found a news article at http://www.insidemacgames.com/previews/view.php?ID=143&Page=2 which mentioned Nanosaur 2 was the first stereographic game released on the Mac, and elsewhere mention that all of that companies games since then have been stereographic ones. It came out before Sly. Got to find every game out there that fits on this list, and see which one came out first. Dream Focus 22:58, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
Some games only have 3D for part of them
[edit]Be useful to list if its the entire game or just part of them, and if it uses just the cheap 3D glasses or something better, and some screenshots to show people what we're talking about. Dream Focus 02:20, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
World Of Warcraft
[edit]Should World of Warcraft be listed as it has a seperate options pane for 3d (but only if you have 3d enabled on your computer) Corhen (talk) 08:17, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Driver Based 3D Support
[edit]Not sure if this article is the right place for it, there are however drivers that add 3D support to games that don't support it themselves. Might we worth to list those drivers and describe what exactly they do. -- Grumbel (talk) 05:42, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
- I believe this list should belong to games for which the developers have taken the time to implement the 3D themselves specifically for the game.
Generic drivers that convert monoscopic games into stereo should be mentioned in a separate information paragraph but their respective supported games lists don't belong here. BlackSharkfr (talk) 22:15, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
True 3D vs "Clash Of The Titans" fake 3D?
[edit]I've noticed that some games use "real 3D", whereas other games use a 3D solution similar to Clash of The Titans which basically looks like 2d paper cutouts on 3 layers of depth. Is there any chance the different implementations could be listed? Off the top of my head, Killzone 3, Black Ops, and Motor Storm both seem to use "real 3D", whereas Crysis uses the 2d paper cutouts solution (as I understand it, this because a "real 3D" image would sacrifice image quality in favor of the 3D effect, so Crysis goes with the paper cutouts solution to retain 2d image quality). 98.242.254.30 (talk) 20:10, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

VR games
[edit]I don't think it makes sense for Half-Life: Alyx and 4D Toys to be here. While technically true that they are stereoscopic 3D, so is every VR game, and I don't think every VR game ever made should be in this list. AlfonsoVenegas (talk) 15:59, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
