Accuracy for US and I presume for most other countries

[edit]

When we access List of airports in the United States and search for "international" 166 results come up, but the list on this page has only 100; the list on this page http://www.gomapper.com/travel/list-of-international-airports-in/united-states-of-america.html has 153 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ingearx (talkcontribs) 01:31, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy and criteria

[edit]

Ladies and gentlemen, this list looks inaccurate even at at a first glance. I won't even bother checking if the empoverished and totalitarian Cuba maintains FIVE full-time airports and receives international flights there. Because it, most obviously, doesn't.

I suggest establishing the criteria for an "international airport" and obtaining reliable list of such from some non-amateur aviation body like the ICAO. Until that, this list may well be tagged as inaccurate. Happy edits, Ukrained2012 (talk) 12:43, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Quite possible. I see a few listings here of airports which have no scheduled international services and are merely claiming to be "international" because they could call a customs agent in on an hour or two notice for general aviation arrivals. See international airport, section "international in name only". K7L (talk) 02:19, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've just added Hobart International Airport, which does not have regular international flights but does host charter flights as well as flights to Antarctic bases. I added it on the basis that I checked a coule of "international in name only" airports from international airport, and they were on this list. If there is lack of consensus on whether these airports should be included then I suggest a separate table or list at the end of the article, or some sort of marker next to the name in the existing lists, could be used. -- Chuq (talk) 07:29, 17 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed Syracuse to Syracuse Hancock International Airport, which does technically qualify as Air Canada has one flight SYR-YYZ. Syracuse is not in Rochester. 2001:5C0:1000:A:0:0:0:265 (talk) 22:50, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The excerpts "at a first glance", "won't even bother checking", "totalitarian Cuba" and "most obviously" clearly constitute a very much biased and unfounded opinion.
As of today, 2024-07-09, Google Flights' engine, ITAMatrix, lists 500 (which might be a cap) one-way flights from 6 different airports in Cuba to any airport in Mexico available for 2025-01-09. There are also direct flights to Houston and Miami, as well as to Toronto and Calgary. All of these are sometimes are also used as stops in a given itinerary. The inclusion of Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton on this list is inaccurate. They ARE NOT equipped with customs and immigration facilities to handle international flights to and from other nations. 66.248.176.83 (talk) 13:22, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Suspicious regional division (Central/Eastern Europe)

[edit]

Good afternoon, I see no reason why Poland and Romania are "Southern and Central Europe", while the Czech Republic and Slovakia Eastern Europe. Is Poland more central than Czechia? --Zik (talk) 15:18, 25 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Australian airports

[edit]

Given the description "They include airports which are typically equipped with customs and immigration facilities to handle international flights to and from other nations.", it seems like a few airports is missing from Australia (as seen from the link). A notable one is Avalon Airport in Melbourne, which has scheduled international flights, and is described as an international airport on Wikipedia. The last 3 airports are already in the page, but listed as islands.

Missing items

[edit]

IXC CHANDIGARH AIRPORT CODE ARE MISSING IN LIST ZIA and OGL are missing. They don’t meet criteria for including or I can add them? And, at all, is this list said to be complete? 217.117.125.83 (talk) 11:55, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I propose we split this into articles per continent. It's too long. StillNoEyeDeer (talk) 21:47, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Agree - The List is too long. GeographicAccountant (talk) 23:07, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

At least, add an index, so we can know what the countries are, and move efficiently to the one we want.
