Creation

[edit]

I created this list as a reference base for disused stations in Norfolk and becuase some of the lines and stations are periodically re-examined for possible future restoration. Currently the Norfolk Orbital Railway is planning to link Sheringham to Wymondham via a route involving a number of foremer stations. Similarly any scheme to restore a rail link between Norwich and King's Lynn would likely involve former sites. Some of the opening/closing dates are a little sketchy at present, for lack of tangible evidence. Lord Cornwallis (talk) 23:19, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be a duplication of List of closed railway stations in Britain. Would it be better to just have that one page and use a category to group the Norfolk ones? Rich257 (talk) 08:32, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a List of closed railway stations in London, so I created a Norfolk version. You might be right, although the British List can be quite hard to use. Lord Cornwallis (talk) 15:37, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

[edit]

What scope is this list covering? Closed station only, or ones operated by heritage lines as well? I noticed that the Mid-Norfolk stations are listed, but those one the North Norfolk and BVR are not. If the stations are still used as stations are they actually closed? Cheers. DiverScout (talk) 11:52, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
