Andzevatsi

[edit]

Please adding Andzevatsi state which was a dynasty of Kurdish ancestry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dilok27 (talkcontribs) 18 August 2021 (UTC)

Former dynasties, at a time when Kurdish identity is not firmly attested, described as Kurdish by some modern sources

Can’t we add a section about before Islam one

[edit]

Some states were believed to be ancestors of Kurds before Islam. Barabara201 (talk) 21:37, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I want to put this file on the article. Zaman (talk) 12:36, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No. The maps shows dynasties which weren't even Kurdish, such as Zakarid dynasty, Kakuyids, and due to that possibly others as well. The origin of the Shabankara and Germiyanids are disputed per their articles (the latter is described as "Turco-Kurdish" as an alternative, not even "Kurdish"). --HistoryofIran (talk) 13:37, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HistoryofIran Both Zakarids and Kakuyids removed, and for the Shabankara and Germiyanids I put (disputed). Zaman (talk) 13:56, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, but the disputed ones should be removed, as they are disputed. The Germiyanids were not even Kurdish at best, but Turco-Kurdish, which is not the same. I would also remove your name from the map. This is supposed to be an Encyclopediac project, don't need our names in the middle of the image. People can already see your name under "Author". HistoryofIran (talk) 14:22, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, is there a reason you have added "Arabian Gulf"..? WP:COMMON NAME is Persian Gulf. HistoryofIran (talk) 14:27, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HistoryofIran Is there any policy supporting "disputed should be removed"? + I'll change the arabian gulf. Zaman (talk) 14:42, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, why should I remove my name when there are so many other works with the name of the author? for example, this Doodlelate Here map. is this actually a problem to request an edit? Zaman (talk) 15:16, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The map is unsourced and includes states such as Sadakiyans who never actually existed, as its article, which has long been deleted, synthesized WP:OR and old sources none of which mentioned a state by that name let alone anyone explicitly Kurdish. Please use reliable sources that classify each of them as a “dynasty” or a “state”, support their inclusion and their geographic placement, instead of a WP:CIRCULAR (and obsolete) reference back to Wikipedia. Plus, it is unjustifiable to include an anachronistic map that mixes up over a millennium of history. Aintabli (talk) 16:12, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Aintabli I've included the emirates that are in here. well, I removed Sadakiyans, what else is there to remove? Zaman (talk) 16:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I think about it, Aintabli is absolutely right. I would find it odd if I were to add a map of every Iranian dynasty or whatever. It fails to offer meaningful content to the readers. Not to mention the other issues that have been raised. A better map would be of the Kurdish principalities that existed together in the late modern period. Heck, even a map of Ardalan and Baban, two important Kurdish dynasties, would be good. Anyways, this article should have the same treatment as the many other "List of x dynasties and countries" imo. HistoryofIran (talk) 20:50, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@HistoryofIran ok, I'll leave this, and I'll try to make more appropriate maps about the emirates, Thanks! Zaman (talk) 21:24, 23 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
