Can someone render "Conseil du Scoutisme polynésien" and "Be Prepared", the Scout Motto, into Tahitian? Thanks! Chris 14:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User ty

[edit]

I have looked at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Category:Wikipedians_by_language . It would appear that there are no templates like {{User ty}}, {{User ty-3}} for Tahitian. :( Chris 06:53, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Georgian Islands

[edit]

Weren't the Windward Islands once called the Georgian Islands instead while the Leeward Islands were the Society Islands? --KAVEBEAR (talk) 02:16, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Native Name

[edit]

Should the native name be Tahitian or French?--KAVEBEAR (talk) 02:16, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Flag?

[edit]

I was told to ask about this here first, but can someone check further if this is the right flag used by the local government? From Flags of the World, which is cited by the description of the flag in use now, it should be a 7 stripe red & white flag (existing Wikimedia file), while the green-yellow flag is apparently used as an sports flag instead. The red-white flag is also used by the French Wikipedia in French Polynesian flags and Société Française de Vexillologie . Also see https://www.tahitiheritage.pf/place-archipels-papeete/ where the red-white flag is flown with the other sub-collectivity islands flags, the French Polynesian and the French flag. Similar photographs are cited in the Flags of the World website.

However I also just found out that the Circonscription of ISLV website uses the green-yellow flag in https://www.service-public.pf/cisl & https://www.service-public.pf (see logo of CISL – Circonscription des Îles sous le vent), so I'm confused now. Can someone help confirm which flag is primarily used and edit the page if needed? AromaticWaffle (talk) 19:23, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: After consulting some other editors, I'll change the primary flag as the stripes flag for now (WP:BOLD), but I'll keep the green-yellow flag beside it if I can. I'll also change the flag for the flags page and the flag template. Please discuss and find more definite sources if needed. AromaticWaffle (talk) 16:46, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
