The result of the move request was: moved. There's a slight consensus to move to Kensington High School (New York) so that's where this page will end up. The dab will get moved as the primary topic. Primefac (talk) 15:51, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
- Kensington High School → Kensington High School (Buffalo, New York)
- Kensington High School (disambiguation) → Kensington High School
– The school in Philadelphia is also simply called Kensington High School, so this page is no longer a unique title. I don't think a former school should be primary topic over a current school. kennethaw88 • talk 05:30, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Move to a different title - namely Kensington High School (New York). It was the only school by this name in New York, hence no need for the city name. BTW, the official name for the school in Philly is Kensington Creative & Performing Arts HS. No opinion on that articles title. John from Idegon (talk) 08:39, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Those are two different schools, as far as I can tell. The current article on Wikipedia is about the Kensington High School at 2501 Coral St., not the Creative and Performing Arts school at 1901 N. Front St. kennethaw88 • talk 17:46, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Which are also different from the Kensington Health Sciences Academy. kennethaw88 • talk 17:50, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- Just going by what NCES has...I am completely on board with a DAB page, my only concern is the OVER - DAB in the name proposed for this article. John from Idegon (talk) 18:53, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- To most people in Britain, Kensington without disambiguation is in London (UK). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:50, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- And to most people in Australia, and I suspect most of the world. That's what our article at Kensington is about. Kensington (UK) contains Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens etc and is frequently referred to in literature... eg Michael Flanders I live in Kensington... naturally... (from the intro to the "the GNU" on At the Drop of a Hat). Interesting. There's no high school there AFAIK, but there are schools by that name operating in both Australia and Canada... unlike this one, which is a former school building used for other purposes. The DAB guidelines don't deal with this as well as they might, perhaps. Andrewa (talk) 15:42, 26 March 2017 (UTC)
Is there a high school called Kensington High School there? John from Idegon (talk) 23:11, 15 March 2017 (UTC)
- To closers: I don't actually object to the suggestion above. It's just my instinct to use the city name, too. kennethaw88 • talk 17:50, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
- Support both moves. This former school building is not likely to be the primary topic. Happy with either proposed disambiguator for the article, can argue both ways, my weak preference is for the more concise Kensington High School (New York), but if closer sees a slight preference for Kensington High School (Buffalo, New York) above (a bit hard to call IMO) and my abstaining would break the tie, then please regard this as a neutral !vote on that. This comment referred to moving Kensington High School prior to the discussion being closed. (Move reverted for now pending close of this discussion, as well as the fact that the RM bot thought this discussion was relisted since the time stamp was placed before the nomination statement.)
