This should be named Mount Minto

[edit]

The offically-gazetted name should stand here, as it's definitely a mountain and also likely in common use by Atlin-area residents. As before, create the new article, transfer the contents from this one, and make this a redirect....Skookum1 06:49, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a volcano?

[edit]

Just saw your removal of the volcanic info/stubs/cats.....is this not a volcano? Tehre were definitely eruptions in this area during the Klondike/Atlin Gold Rush.....Minto is incredibly conical, also, as can be seen on topomaps....and it's too big to be a pingo.....Skookum1 (talk) 15:13, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure where I found the volcano infomation so I removed it. A possibility is a lava formation on the Geological Survey of Canada website called Minto but that appears to be in the Volcano Mountain area in central Yukon. It dosen't even show up as a subfeature in the Atlin Volcanic Field here where I expected it to be. I will restore it if I find it again. Black Tusk (talk) 18:54, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
