Clingmans Dome was officially renamed to it’s former Cherokee name, Kuwohi on September 18, 2024. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 18:31, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- I’d like anyone who knows foreign languages; especially those with a non-Latin script; to update the name. We also still need it updated in Danish, Cebuano, and Polish as well. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 16:36, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Spanish Wikipedia also needs updated. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 17:58, 24 September 2024 (UTC)
- Update: I managed to post a message using Google Translate on the Spanish Wikipedia’s version of the village pump. They have renamed their article to Kuwohi. Danish, Cebuano, and Polish still need updated. I have tentatively contacted an administrator on the Polish Wikipedia who just so happens to speak English too; waiting to hear back. I have also tentatively contacted someone here on this WikiProject who speaks Danish, but again, I’m waiting to hear back. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 17:02, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Also; non-Latin scripts generally need updated. Anyone who understands a couple Arabic script languages and/or Russian: please update the article on those. Hurricane Clyde 🌀my talk page! 17:03, 25 September 2024 (UTC)

Updating Colorado 14ers per new measurements
[edit]As per https://geodesy.noaa.gov/web/news/moving-mountains.shtml and NAPGD22, several 14ers in Colorado have had their heights changed. Are there any objections to me updating List of Colorado fourteeners and Fourteener per these new measurements? Thanks! KilimAnnejaro (talk) 02:45, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
Module for ranking mountains and fetching from Wikidata
[edit]I have been working on a Lua Module for listing mountains by their elevation based ranking. One of the maintenance issues for List of mountains in the Canadian Rockies is having to manually update the ranking number each time a mountain is added. I was usually adding some and specifying "nnn" for the rank number. Then at some point I would re-do the rankings and the nnn would turn into actual numbers. As one would expect, this was rather tedious. As well, I have been active on Wikidata, updating sources and filling in FA and mountain range where they were missing for mountains I had checked on the English Wikipedia. So, not only does the Lua module automate the ranking numbers, it also fetches the elevation, prominence, FA, mountain range and coordinates from Wikidata. Exception for the elevation, these Wikidata values are put into the output table depending on the runtime options given to the module. It also adds an informational note to the Notes section when the elevation on here differs from that on Wikidata. This module greatly simplifies page editing as you only need to provide the elevation, page name and notes. Check out my sandbox of List of mountains in the Canadian Rockies. The runtime options specify whether the rank number, mountain range, FA, coordinates and notes are shown. For articles in countries where metre is not the official unit of measure such as the United States, you can specify that the first unit is feet. As well, if the mountain range is shown, it only wiki links the first occurrence of the range. The module is currently in my sandbox but I will be looking to move it to its own Module name fairly soon. RedWolf (talk) 00:57, 29 January 2025 (UTC)
