Jiayou! → Jiayou – The exclamation is not needed and unnecessary. Wefk423 (talk) 18:38, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

- @Wefk423 and Timrollpickering: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 23:51, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- The target was redirecting to Add oil until the proposer changed it today. This needs discussion first. Timrollpickering (Talk) 18:59, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Timrollpickering: The original redirect is incorrect, that's why I changed it. Jiayou, a Chinese pinyin, should be redirected to the Jiayou! but wasn't as the article was created recently. Add oil is the Hong Kong English phrase which is the literal translation of Jiayou. This request is simply moving the article to a namespace without an exclamation mark. –Wefk423 (talk) 20:09, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support I created the article through glancing at the "Add Oil" page's related term section which shows 'Ganbatte!' and 'Paiting!' with exclamation marks, so created this page with one for coordination with those. It's only after the article creation that I've realized the pages themselves Ganbaru and Paiting don't have exclamations. Sleath56 (talk) 02:36, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support, current title has non-standard punctuation for a dicdef. Axem Titanium (talk) 18:19, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support. Pretty clearly appropriate to have the article about an interjection not include the exclamation point. –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 04:23, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

Discussion of history
[edit]Is there a known history of the usage of the term? I was interested in the origin of its usage but was disappointed to see not much about that on the article. 104.232.119.107 (talk) 03:13, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
