Undiscussed move

[edit]

In 2016, Lemongirl942 unilaterally moved the article to Internment of Chinese Indians, to match the article Internment of Japanese Americans, which she claims to be a similar article [1]. However, the two situations are not similar at all, as the deportation is at least as important as internment in the persecution of Chinese Indians, whereas virtually no Japanese American citizens were deported. I was not around at the time and did not notice the change. I've now restored the original title, as the new title does not match the article scope. -Zanhe (talk) 18:04, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Persecution of Chinese IndiansInternment of Chinese-Indians – Just addition of deportation doesn't change the objective of the detention. This was detention similar to the WW II Methu1 (talk) 20:28, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Internment of Chinese-IndiansInternment of Chinese Indians – Move back to original non-hyphenated title (before Revision as of 17:58, 19 June 2018, Revision as of 22:08, 16 April 2020). All cited sources, including Indian ones, use the non-hyphenated form. • Support per MOS:DASH. Hyphens are used in compound modifiers, and nothing is being modified here by the phrase "Chinese-Indians". You would hyphenate the modifier in "Chinese-Indian people" or "Chinese-Indian internment", but not "Chinese Indians" (where only "Chinese" is the modifier). --Ahecht (TALK
