Turkic

[edit]

None of primary sources about him mentioned a Turkic origin for him. The only thing we know about him is that according to Ibn Nadim, he was from Gilan region. Other people also existed with "Turk" epithet who weren't Turk, such as Ishaq al-Turk. Because of the lack of evidences in primary sources, a reliable, peer-reviewed source is needed here to support a Turkic origin for him, not just some local Turkish claim. -- Kouhi (talk) 17:15, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Is it? Which wright that Biruni was Persian in primary source? Biruni was say that himself was not a Persian in Tahdidü Nihayatül Emakin. What will this be? Just one source is unavailable that say Ibn Turk was not a Turk. If you can offer only one source, you offer. Just one. Or don't more resistance. 24.133.181.141 (talk) 17:32, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And exactly because of this reason we didn't write "Al-Biruni was a Persian" in his article. You need to cite a reliable biographical source for "ibn Turk was of Turkic origin". -- Kouhi (talk) 17:37, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This source is reliable. I repeat: Can you offer only one source that say Ibn Turk was not a Turk? Which wright that Biruni was Iranian in primary source? Which wright that Avicenna was Persian in primary source? 24.133.181.141 (talk) 17:43, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can discuss about Avicenna and Biruni in their respective talk pages. Here you should discuss about ibn Turk. And the burden to prove things is on you, not me, I'm not claiming something, this is you who want to add something to the article, so this is you who should provide a source. I'm not going to write "ibn Turk wasn't of Turkic origin" in the article, so I don't need to cite something. I'm going to request a page-protection. -- Kouhi (talk) 17:47, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Am I who want to add something to the article? Turkic in available in this article at beforetime. And after you deleted Turkic in this article. 24.133.181.141 (talk) 17:56, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That "Turkish" word was added by an anonymous user to the article, without citing any source. -- Kouhi (talk) 20:41, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Anymore available source. 24.133.181.141 (talk) 21:09, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

All other non-English versions of this Wiki article have included the possible Turkic origin. Yet, because of some Iranian user, the term was deleted here. How many times things like this happened in other articles concerning Turkic people I cannot tell anymore.TengriKhagan (talk) 22:25, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
