[edit]Fix typos, metric units, and get a copyeditor, since the overall writing is somewhat poor. All in all, not too bad of a job Evan. ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:38, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- Also, merge the duplicate references, and format them properly. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 22:15, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- The above still applies, so why is this at PR? –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 18:58, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Requested move 24 November 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus. It is clear there needs to be a broader discussion on how to effectively name and disambiguate hurricane articles, and this article needs to be part of that discussion. Right now, as with several other similar articles, there is no consensus for a move. (non-admin closure) Bradv 21:48, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
Hurricane Tina (1992) → Hurricane Tina – Only one Pacific hurricane named Tina. 219.79.96.41 (talk) 11:27, 24 November 2016 (UTC) --Relisting. Andrewa (talk) 19:50, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. This should not have been listed separately. See ongoing relevant discussion at Talk:Hurricane Stan (disambiguation)#Requested move 22 October 2016. —Gordon P. Hemsley→✉ 06:24, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Relisting comment: I agree with User:GPHemsley that this shouldn't have been raised as a separate RM while the other was in progress, but now that it has been, let us wait at least one relisting and see whether anything happens at the other discussion. Andrewa (talk) 19:50, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose: so not as to confuse with any other names listed at Tropical Storm Tina, especially Tropical Storm Tina (2016). Ebonelm (talk) 21:21, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Support. It's the only *Hurricane" with that name, and a hatnote can take us to the dab page in case anyone is confused. Unlike "Tropical Storm Tina" (which includes Hurricane Tina), this is not an ambiguous term. — Amakuru (talk) 23:26, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
- Someone people call any strong tropical storm a hurricane. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:27, 9 December 2016 (UTC)
- Exactly! And not every tropical storm is a tropical storm, and tropical storms regularly strike in mid latitudes, not just the tropics. It's a nightmare. See the ongoing discussion regarding storms Ada and Stan, your input would be appreciated. Andrewa (talk) 09:07, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- Support. While discussion at Talk:Hurricane Stan and elsewhere is continuing, nothing that has developed there affects this RM. This is the clear primary topic of Hurricane Tina, see Tropical Storm Tina where the target currently redirects. There is work to do at Tropical Storm Tina, but again that does not affect this RM. Andrewa (talk) 08:35, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
- Support. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, obviously. Not ambiguous per Amakuru. --В²C ☎ 20:04, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose. Ambiguous and less recognisable without the year. Typhoons and cyclones are the same thing. Tropical storms are too similar, a hurricane is a type of tropical storm. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 21:31, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Previous closer's comment My close was reverted with a nothing less than non-sense rationale. Again, I will not reinstate it, since the reverter has requested and stated that only an admin is capable enough. See my talk page and this page's history for more context. QEDK (愛) 06:18, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- "Non-admin closes normally require that: The consensus or lack thereof is clear..." [1]. At the time of the non-admin closing there were only two opposes one of which was on procedural grounds. In other words, a lack of consensus was not clear, so a non-admin should not close. Nobody said anything about anyone's capabilities or lack thereof. --В²C ☎ 19:50, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Hurricane Tina (1992) → Hurricane Tina – Only one Pacific hurricane named Tina. 219.79.250.146 (talk) 01:34, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose yes but there's been WPAC and SYHEM storms named Tina, and that could cause confusion. YE Pacific Hurricane 16:38, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
