House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina → House of the Nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – This is a much better translation of the Serbo-Croatian. Dom is okay; it is a clipping of the Latin word domus, meaning house, and its meaning hasn't changed since that time. Naroda, however, is singular, so even if the translation is kept, it should be The People, not Peoples. That said, the word narod is most often translated as nation; the American nation is Američki narod, and the nationality field in travel passports is labelled narodnost, with the nost part being their counterpart to English ness. 45.72.238.12 (talk) 19:29, 5 June 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. buidhe 01:02, 19 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose – You are mistaken in your Serbo-Croatian translation, as naroda can express both the singular and plural genitive cases. It wouldn't make sense for the chamber to refer to one 'nation' as you suggest, as its whole idea is to represent the three constitutive nations/people of BiH. In any case, 'House of Peoples' is the official English term used in the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a quick search shows that it is by far the most common English translation of Dom naroda.[1][2][3] LeoC12 (talk) 01:49, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
