Hello From the Magic TavernHello from the Magic Tavern – "from" is a preposition with just four letters. Per WP:NCCAPS, it should be lowercased. If sources matter (I think it shouldn't), Medium.com, iTunes, NiemanLab, RedEyeChicago, FastCompany, and Engadget should suffice. BoingBoing is a blog and mixes usage. Episode Listing / Description

[edit]

Would there be much benefit to adding a section for episodes? I'm thinking a general "episode number, description, guest, length" would suffice. Thoughts? NsTaGaTr (talk) 17:07, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Podcast of the Month Proposal

[edit]

This article is on the list of proposals for the monthly collaboration. Project members have expressed that collaborations often lack goals so I'm adding a list of potential improvements to the talk pages of each proposal.

Here are my suggestions for improvements that need to be made.

  • The introductory paragraphs are typically (from what I understand) supposed to be a short succinct summary of the articles contents that does not need any citations. So I would recommend moving any important contents currently located in the introduction to other parts of the article, shortening the introduction and completely removing citations from the introduction.
  • The infobox lacks quite a few parameters that could fairly easily be included such as number of seasons, number of episodes, related shows, etc.
  • The infobox image has strange dimensions. Most cover art is square and from a quick google search the same exact cover art is available with square dimensions. Personally, I think replacing it would be good.
  • Adding images to the article would be great. Images of the host, guests, fans, or even alternative cover art would all be good.
  • I've noticed (and fixed a few) instances of putting punctuation outside of quotation marks rather than on the inside, which I believe is incorrect grammar. I'm sure there are other grammar, punctuation, or spelling issues that need fixing or at least rephrasing of clunky sentences.
  • Citations almost always need their parameters filled out. Especially archive URLs and archive dates.
  • There is absolutely no episode list of any kind, which could probably be made into it's own article if the podcast has been regularly producing episodes since 2015.
  • Hyperlinks could most likely be added or if their are duplicates some could be removed.
  • The see also and external links sections could potentially have more links added to them. Remember to follow guidelines though, I don't think fan sites are allowed and adding links to different podcasting platforms isn't worth it while a navbox is being developed for that purpose.
  • I really don't think "Foon" should be a header and the contents could most likely be moved to concept.
  • I don't think there is anything that could be added to a "further reading" section, but if someone finds something that would be great.
  • Non-podcasting categories should be added such as more generic things related to fantasy
  • New sources are almost always helpful and could help reduced the large number of times that some references are used (i.e. reference number one is currently cited 10 separate times). I would also be curious to find out whether there are book/film adaptions or off shoot/side projects related to this podcast.

If anyone has an other suggestions feel free to add to the discussion. TipsyElephant (talk) 03:26, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
