Deletion
[edit]I think that this article should be deleted. Wikipedia is a not a collection of random facts, it is an encyclopedia. There should not be articles about subjects that have no significance or relevance. There is no reason to have an article about a random high school in Indiana. Prb4 02:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- The what you do is be bold and nominate it for deletion. I believe you will fail, though, because it is a large, well-known high school, not an elementary, with a fairly long article, not really a stub anymore. I would suggest you don't. Reywas92Talk 13:24, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- It is among the most prestigious high schools in the United States so you sir, need to kindly screw off. Go moan about your loser random nobody mediocre high school somewhere else. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steelgoliath (talk • contribs) 01:47, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
Why do you care if it's deleted or not? Obviously, you're not from HSE, or Indiana for that matter, because everyone here knows our school and we take pride in that. Everyone works hard, and we get what we deserve. Maybe you should show some effort once in a while, and your little smalltown school can be put on the map. 98.220.188.11 (talk) 20:26, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's not always about pride or working hard, but whether a topic is relevant or significant enough to deserve an article. The high school definitely deserves an article because of the area it serves as well as its size. The World 00:28, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes there is. Plenty of people moving to the area have probably wanted to quickly look up some information about the school their child might attend. Eacoughlin (talk) 19:12, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Bullying
[edit]Well sourced incident yielding potentially useful information to readers. Fred Talk 14:42, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with your edits and comment, though I think the young gentleman's name would be appropriate in there. But I see no virtue in insisting on it :) Fiddle Faddle (talk) 14:49, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- There were 4,599 youth suicides in the US in 2004 alone. It is not necessary to list that every school is at some point affected by this. Bullying unfortunately happens at every school and there is abolutely no reason to have a section pointing out that Hamilton Southeastern is not an exception. The fact that something is sourced does not mean that it warrants inlusion on this specific article; news is local and temporary. Reywas92Talk 16:41, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Contrary to your assertion, schools with effective anti-bullying programs are an exception. Fred Talk 19:37, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- BS. Give me a school, preferably a large public school, that is proven to be 100% bullying-free. It might be less prevalent at smaller, possibly private schools, but it happens. Reywas92Talk 22:25, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

- It is sourced and well sourced. It is relevant and highly relevant. I consider such removal to be vandalism and have flagged it as such and issued a level one warning to you. You have removed a relevant and cited element twice now. Fiddle Faddle (talk) 17:28, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, let's search for the other thousands of annual suicides and mention it on their school articles too. It is inappropriate to have a section devoted to bullying unless it is known to be a widespread, long-term problem. Other than the courtesy to write a message and not WP:DTTR, you could have at least given me right warning! I did use an edit summary and the talk page, contrary to what you posted. Reywas92Talk 22:25, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- I do not feel that bullying is essential to the article or really that relevant. Though it is sourced, I wouldn't say well sourced. The information out there varies. The inconsistancies within the information available make it difficult - because they do not know that if the incident was completely caused by bullying. Plus bullying is an on going issue in many public and private high schools throughout the nation and there really is no school that falls into the exception of bullying. For this school, this is amoung the isolated incidients that have happened in the school's history (causing the media to spring on the issue). There is no need to add isolated events with individual students to this article. The World 22:34, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
- Also removal is not vandalism in anyway because there is a probable cause. Right now there we are having discussion so editing without consensus might be considered vandalism The World 22:36, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
