Nationality of Gilbert Burns
[edit]Why is Burns labeled as "Brazilian" when he is clearly a "Brazilian-American"? He has American citizenship, and he lives and fights out of Lantana, Florida. Would it not be more accurate and appropriate to call him "Brazilian-American"? Jgriffy98 (talk) 22:15, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Jgriffy98 Greetings. Pls provide source to support he has American citizenship then "Brazilian-American" can be added in with source in the article. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:18, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Cassiopeia I just assumed he was because he lives in Lantana, Florida. I have yet to find a credible source, but I will post it here if and when I do find one. Jgriffy98 (talk) 07:38, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Jgriffy98 OK, when you find a WP:secondary source (newspaper or any MMA media sites) then kindly provide the URL if you want me to help you to place the info and the citation in the page. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:31, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Gilbert Burns (fighter) → Gilbert Burns – Right now, Gilbert Burns defaults to the disambiguation page for two people - a farmer from the 18th century and the fighter. I do not know how to check the number of views, but I assume that most people are trying to search for the fighter. I think it should default to the fighter with a link to the farmer at the top. - Comment: @Marty2Hotty2: You can use the Pageviews Analysis here [1]. :] GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 05:41, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: @GhostOfDanGurney: Thanks. It looks like the fighter has an average of 1700 daily views compared to the farmer who gets 3. I think this is an easy decision. Marty2Hotty2 (talk) 05:48, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support the fighter as primary, per above comment; overwhelming majority of page views for the fighter suggests people are searching fore him. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 13:13, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- The fighter's page will be greatly improved with {for|younger brother of Robert Burns the poet|Gilbert Burns (farmer)} hat-note, it may make introduce MMA fans to Scots poetry, who knows. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:33, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support 36,132 views for the fighter v 70 for the farmer[[2]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:26, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: I think the "farmer" Gilbert Burns page should be a hatnote on the fighter's page. Marty2Hotty2 (talk) 14:28, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Gilbert Burns → Gilbert Burns (fighter) – This need to be reverted back Kent Bargo (talk) 05:40, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- On what grounds? The page views are overwhelming in the fighters’ favour.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 06:03, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose: no reason is given, and most people are looking for the fighter overwhelmingly. Marty2Hotty2 (talk) 20:09, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, he's the clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC.--Ortizesp (talk) 00:18, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Comment he? Are you talking about Gilbert Burns (farmer) or Gilbert Burns (fighter)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kent Bargo (talk • contribs) 01:43, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Considering they are opposing moving this article from Gilbert Burns to Gilbert Burns (fighter) it’s clear they meant that they believe the fighter is the primary topic since if they though the farmer was the primary topic they would have supported this request for obvious reasons.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 03:48, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose no reason has been presented to overrun the previous consensus.--65.92.160.124 (talk) 22:34, 18 February 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but I was wondering if this article's rating could be updated from stub class? It is clearly not a stub, and should probably be start/C class. Jeicex1 (talk) 01:03, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
