I don't know much about this game, but it seems like a good place to start. Consider adding more reviews, and add an article about Fast Food Tycoon 2 if you can. Bibliomaniac15 04:01, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You might also want to add a ==History== Section.

T1migi on 14:34, 22 May 2006: Wasn't this once called Pizza Syndicate?

From the looks of it, yes. I have Pizza Syndicate and it has an identical cover design (with the exception of the logo). I think FFT2 and Pizza Connection 2 are one and the same too. --RKingdom 23:04, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fast Food TycoonPizza Syndicate – I'd like to move this to the original title of game, as the developer was German, and it was released in Europe before North America. Presumably it's been listed under the North American article name due to US-centrism EditorInTheRye (talk) 22:13, 2 February 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). • Hi, the 2 sources cited in the article use the name "fast food tycoon". Dr. Vogel (talk) 22:29, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Along with what Dr. Vogel said, remember that we only care about the most commonly used and recognized name per WP:COMMONNAME. ~ Eejit43 (talk) 04:20, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's an obscure 1999 game, so I'd say it's a hard one to establish a WP:COMMONNAME for either way. "fast food tycoon" as a search term is littered with mentions of the sequel and other unrelated things. The American IGN review just happens to be one of the still intact reviews from the time of release, and unfortunately I can't find any still available reviews from the EU release (they'd be mostly in European languages and/or in magazines). Added an archived link from the developers just to give it at least one place where it's using the original name, though. I feel this would probably stand up in a discussed move proposal, but I can't really be bothered with that given the obscurity of the topic. Happy to abandon this move request. This probably now has to go to RM, but looks like a supportable move In ictu oculi (talk) 10:00, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • For what it's worth, the name was created as "Fast Food Tycoon" way back in 2006. So if this gets into some sort of WP:ENGVAR-type situation where either is acceptable, we often default to that. Sergecross73 msg me 13:56, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, the editor who created the article is probably American (most of their edits are about things in the US), so I'm guessing it's just a case of unintentional US-centrism on their part, as the revision you linked to doesn't even mention the original name of the game. There seems to have been a similar naming decision for Sega Genesis, where the North American name was ultimately used. I'd say the only difference here is the obscurity of the game - there are no sales figures (that I'm aware of) that would point to it being more popular in one market over the other. EditorInTheRye (talk) 15:41, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You keep making that accusation, but you really need to focus on proving WP:COMMONNAME. It's not enough to just vaguely muse about bias. Case in point, there's a very detailed FAQ about why Sega Genesis is at its current title. Literal years of discussions went into it. Not just "An American probably wrote it" or whatever. Sergecross73 msg me 15:52, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I thought writing from a global perspective was part of NPOV? Anyway, I've already said I wanted to abandon this move request, but it got converted to a move request regardless. I'm just putting the info out there in case someone can piece this together to make a clear decision, because I can't. EditorInTheRye (talk) 15:57, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Of course a global perspective is important. But vague accusations of bias isn't the way to persuade people of that. Feel free to "put info out there". I'm just out here doing the same thing. Sergecross73 msg me 16:03, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
