Time
[edit]I don't know how much realism they are aiming for, but the co-existence of sabretooth cats and bows and arrows, and "a valley that was once covered in ice" (LGM) places it almost exactly at 11 to 12 kya, i.e. "10,000 BC", as advertised, so I don't see why we would add "a time where humans have just discovered fire, and begun to use stones to create tools for their daily life". --dab (𒁳) 08:14, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
"Central Europe"?
[edit]The article states the game is set in a valley in "central Europe", but thew accompanying source doesn't mention Europe. Furthermore, many of the extinct animals featured in the game only existed in America, such as Smilodon and dire wolves, but European animals are also featured, so it would seem this takes place in a fictional world? I've heard the game itself says Central Europe, but I haven't played it. FunkMonk (talk) 15:21, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
- I don't remember what the game says; it's not clear and definitely fictionalised but it's clearly 1. Eurasia 2. probably north of the Middle East given the flora, fauna and geography (the map is actually the same map used in FC4, which is set in Nepal; whoah, mountains). The three tribes are Neandertals, modern humans, and the character's own tribe who appear to be a hybrid of the two. Ogress 23:44, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- The game is set in what would be modern day Slovakia. Also, Smilodon wasn't the only species of saber tooth cat, they were many different species that were widespread (Like this, or this). Also, where in any of the game content or any source says they have Dire Wolves? Nowhere, because they aren't dire wolves, they are modern wolves. Also the three tribes are Udam, which are cannibalistic humans, which are hinted at maybe being a mix between Neanderthals and Humans. The Izila are the other enemy tribe, with domestication and farming, and they are from Mesopotamia. Wenja (your tribe) are definitely NOT a mix between the two. In fact, only the Udam seem to be native to Oros. Piplup123 (talk) 03:10, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- The Udam are not hybrids, they are straight up Neandertals, have you looked at them in-game? They are Classic Neandertal. Ogress 04:04, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
