Talk:Epic Records Japan
Differentiating between the different EPIC labels
[edit]Does anyone know the difference between Epic Sony Record and EPIC Records Japan (see this ja page [1] if you read Japanese.) The present article doesn't mention if it is a Japanese record company or when it was founded. -- Taku (talk) 11:09, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd like to clear this up, but could need some help. EPIC is mentioned on the SMEJ website: [2] - section history:

Shouldn't the title of the article be "Epic Records Japan Inc." if it was re-established as such in 2001? According to Sony Music Entertainment Japan and ultimately Source 2 (CBS/Sony to Take Over 4 Subsidiaries. Jiji Press Ticker Service, February 12, 1988), Epic/Sony Records Inc. was one of four wholly owned subsidiaries folded into CBS/Sony Group in March of 1988. More pages link directly to "Epic/Sony Records" than redirect through Epic Records Japan, but I think that could be because there are more artists from before 2001. Video games released by CBS/Sony Group or subsidiaries but not Epic/Sony Records
[edit]Not sure what to do with these titles right now. Collecting them here for the time being. -- Make (talk) 10:04, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
