Honorary Doctor in Medicine?

[edit]

How the heck did she become a Honorary Doctor in Medicine? No kind of medical education is mentioned, and the only source is an anarcho-syndicalist trade union federation in Sweden. -- Heptor talk 23:54, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've now found a number of more sources, but as you have questioned their validity I'd thought I should be on the safe side. I have contacted the University of Uppsala (which, according to some sources, bestowed the honor). Jobjörn (Talk ° contribs) 08:55, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The whole idea of a honorary doctorate is to celebrate a person who has contributed to a field of kowledge without having the formal qualifications needed for a regular akademic position. -- Linkomfod 16:33, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

As the Ottar paper is mentioned, one should perhaps also mentioned that she is "honored" by getting her name attached to an extremist feminist group in Norway. -- Linkomfod 16:36, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New reference and edit suggestions

[edit]

I would like to add more of Elise Ottensen-Jensens work to the bibliography list, amongst them "Säg barnet sanningen" from 1945 ("Tell the Child the Truth). I have some published and unpublished work to add to this list. Also I would like to go into more detail in the paragraph on her as a journalist and writer. In addition to this, I want to edit the infobox and add more detailed information (such as where she was buried, how long she was married to Albert Jensen, who her grandpa was and so on). Finally, I would like to add some information to the last paragraph on RSFU and the Norwegian feminist group "Kvinnegruppa Ottar" who are named after Ottesen-Jensen's nickname "Ottar".
