it is important part of electronic games so it is request it should be mergered.User:Yousaf465

Strong oppose. I think bots are almost entirely confined to a subset of electronic games called video games. Bots have little if anything to do with electronic games in general. What does it mean to speak of a bot in a discussion of pinball machines or slot machines? I suggest merging with the video games article if anything. -Thibbs (talk) 07:00, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chess

[edit]

The article does not mention electronic chess boards, one of the most well known non-video electronic games I should think. Electronic battleships could do with a mention too. Not sure how to put them in; may do it myself when have time unless someone else wants to write them in. Carlwev (talk) 19:02, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A very early game is not mentioned in the article - where would it fit in?

[edit]

Before any of the teletype games that are listed here, there were electronic game machines with dedicated hardware and displays. The earliest example is Bertie the Brain, which had a visual display, and which was played by thousands at the Canadian National Exhibition in 1950.([1][2][3]). Where in the article should this be mentioned?—Anne Delong (talk) 15:21, 4 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It's a (early) video game so the best subsection would be: Electronic game#Video games. But there were several early video games so I'm not sure it would be WP:DUE to only mention Bertie the Brain. If we want to talk about the early video games, it would probably fit best under Electronic game#Computer video games. -Thibbs (talk) 00:31, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
