My Dad used to work there until they moved. He told me they also did a lot of work for the ICE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.132.242.235 (talk) 02:00, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

"DUEWAG EMU 592 of the Thüringer Waldbahn"
[edit]first of all, these GT6 were no EMUs (Electric Multiple Units), though later some of them were modified to become such (e.g. in Heidelberg). They often carried single- or double-truck trailers. secondly, back when 592 was built, the company still used "DÜWAG" as its short name, from "Düsseldorfer Waggonfabrik". The "UE" form was later adapted for internationalisation.
I've made the appropriate changes to the article.
Also, the pictured TW6000 (which is an EMU), is from the 6100-series, which was manufactured by LHB. DÜWAG only built the first 100 cars numbered 6000-6099.
(I didn't change that, since they are quite similar, and DÜWAG did build trams that look similar (though there are technical differences)...

Article title
[edit]Duewag is not the anglicised name of the company, but the name it traded under from 1981 in all markets including Germany. This is evidenced by:
- its German language website
- the name of the legal entity, Siemens Duewag Schienenfahrzeuge GmbH
- its builders plates both in English and German
Even though the company uses all capitals, as it is not an acronym, the article should be named in proper English to comply with MOS:TMRULES. Breteinder (talk) 02:33, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
