Requested move 24 July 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. No one below disputes that cervical spondylotic myelopathy is the WP:COMMONNAME. This close does not preclude other actions proposed below, such as merging or draftifying. (non-admin closure) Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 20:28, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
Spondylotic radiculomyelopathy → Cervical spondylotic myelopathy – As currently noted in the lead section by the article creator, it's "commonly referred to as cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM)", so WP:COMMONNAME seems to apply, though I'm not a healthcare professional. All of the sources cited so far also call it "cervical spondylotic myelopathy". Cervical spondylotic myelopathy currently redirects to myelopathy, so the move will need to be done by an administrator. 2A00:23EE:16A8:C58:6836:22FF:FE30:62BD (talk) 05:51, 24 July 2023 (UTC)— Relisting. —usernamekiran (talk) 16:49, 7 August 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. - Comment: I assume that this name was used only because the other name was already a redirect, though perhaps the author prefers this terminology. Meanwhile, this article appears to be the same subject as Spinal cord compression, just with a more technical name (see MOS:MED). I think the pages should be merged. Perhaps this one should just be sent back to draft-space. It has not been reviewed, and at parts it seems too close to medical advice. (Note: The proposed move would only require page-mover rights, not admin.) SilverLocust 💬 07:03, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
