Mana and the soundtrack
[edit]I've removed the unsourced rumor that Mana composed in-game music for Harmony of Dissonance. While it is true that the official Japanese CV:HOD site features an interview with Iga and Mana, those who read the interview will find that it makes no mention of Mana composing any music. This rumor has already been thoroughly researched and discredited. flowersofnight 04:23, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
- The interview of Mana and Iga does not explicitly mention Mana the game's composer. Please stop reverting to the false fact that Mana wrote the music. Calicore 21:01, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
Trivia?
[edit]Is trivia really needed in the article? It is not important to non-players of the game, thus I would consider it fancruft. Mamyles 16:56, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
- The trivia is for more than "fancruft"(?). It is letting others that may think it's from somewhere else, and some people enjoy it Spanky 18:28, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- Except that trivia needs to be verifiable and most of what's given is fan-type speculation. Provide sources to confirm, and thus it should stay. --Masem 23:33, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Grandson...
[edit]I noted that Juste Belmont is supposed to be the grandson of Simon Belmont. I thought about mentioning that he would be Richter Belmont's father, but this seemed redundant, especially since it's already mentioned in the Castlevania: Dracula X article that Richter is Simon's great-grandson. --Brahman 06:21, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- And technically, it's possible that he's not Richter's father, since Juste's father (whoever that is) may have had more than one son, and perhaps Juste remained childless. Who knows for sure what they will do with the storyline, but we can't say with 100% certainty. --Brahman 06:24, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Wikiproject Video Games Assessment
[edit]The article is well written, with appropriate wikilinks, italicized proper names, etc. I didn't find many problems with the actual prose itself. A few things though:
- A screenshot would definitely be of use in this article.
- Per WP:LEADCITE any references that are used in other parts of the article should not be referenced in the lead
- Consider making the "Additional Modes" heading just part of gameplay. It seems strange to have a separate heading for one small paragraph.
- The Reception section should probably mention aggregate scores, and that would also be useful information in the lead as well.

Translation differences
[edit]As one of the few people who has played both the original and Double Pack versions of this game, I noticed that the two use different English translations... the Double Pack version appears to be an earlier revision and has mistakes that did not appear in the original.
The differences are the most noticeable when talking to Death in the clock tower and reviewing several of the item descriptions, such as Hint Cards 3, 4, 5, and 6.
Should this be mentioned in the article somewhere? I can probably get screenshots if needed.
--Powerlord (talk) 04:15, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Before I forget, Aria of Sorrow uses the same translation for both versions. In case anyone was wondering. --Powerlord (talk) 04:35, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- That's really interesting. You'd think they'd use a better translation for a re-release... Personally, I think that this is more of trivia. But if you want to mention it somewhere, it'll need a reliable source. Kaguya-chan (talk) 19:16, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- What I mean is that if it's not a huge departure from the translation used in the first release, it's probably not important enough to mention and falls into the realm of trivia. Not that it isn't really interesting. Kaguya-chan (talk) 21:13, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

I'll be reviewing this article throughout the next few days. The Good Article criteria are posted below for reference. As I see that the article passes a particlular piece of the criteria, it will be updated with a symbol. The second section below is where I will post my comments. I will continue to post things I find throughout the next few days until I state I'm finished finding issues, however, anyone may choose to start fixing these issues at any time. --Teancum (talk)

Issues
[edit]- player-character should be player character
- "Harmony of Dissonance makes use of the forward dash move" -- "the forward dash" should be "a forward dash"
- "role-playing games (RPG)" -- (RPG) is not necessary unless you refer to it as such later in an article
- The Reception section relies very heavily on quotations. Please limit those, and summarize what has been said.
- Some references list the publisher as IGN, others IGN.com -- these need to all be marked as IGN
- "Game Informer" as a publisher in Ref 38 should be italicized. It's also a dead link, so if you can get an archived version from www.archive.org that would be best.
- Publishers should only be wikilinked for the first reference. Every other reference after that should not be.
DONE - I didn't find much. Good job! Let me know when you've addressed these.
I've marked issues that have been addressed. --Teancum (talk) 12:22, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Famitsu:
[edit]The page original cited the print version of Famitsu, and says it gave the game a 31/40 score. I checked the online Famitsu, and it lists it actually getting only a 19/40. I changed the score to reflect this. Did I read the page wrong? Citation Harizotoh9 (talk) 16:32, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
Restored the original citation. I believe the online edition is in error. The description of it says it sounds like a sports game from 2000. They must have gotten games mixed up. Harizotoh9 (talk) 23:52, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
Castlevania: Nocturne
[edit]Juste appearing in 2 episodes of the show is a fact and the game´s events are talked about. So why was that edit removed? An officially licensed adaptation is hardly "not noteworthy". Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse´s page talks about Captain N after all. A random YT clip to show him in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYudBWdfpd8 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.64.147.205 (talk) 16:23, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
