Blackjack Ski Resort (Bessemer, Michigan) → Black River Basin – In mid 2022, the mountain was sold to new ownership, in which they changed the name to Black River Basin (name of near creek), to remove all potentially racist native american culture Cherrell410 (talk) 01:30, 15 November 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. - @Cherrell410 any sources to point to the new name as the common name? – robertsky (talk) 10:27, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- For the record, Indianhead was certainly renamed in deference to Native American culture. As long as the new owners were rebranding, "Blackjack" and "Big Snow" were changed as well as they were sometimes confused with other skiing resorts: https://www.skiblackjack.ca/ and Big Snow American Dream. - Merge with Jackson Creek Summit and move the whole thing to Snow River Mountain Resort. OK, so this is a little confusing, especially as the linked website [1] now points to something completely unrelated. But as far as I can tell, the "Blackjack Ski Resort" name hasn't been really in use since around 2008 when the resort was merged with the neighbouring Snow River. And now, from source [2] we see that indeed the new owners have taken over and are keen to not use the "Blackjack" terminology with the two skiing areas becoming Jackson Creek Summit and Black River Basin as noted. But really, I don't think we need separate articles for those two individual areas within a combined resort... especially as there isn't a huge amount of content in this article anyway. — Amakuru (talk) 10:59, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
- Agree (with nit). Merge and move to "Snowriver Mountain Resort" (no space). See http://www.snowriver.com
- KelleyCook (talk) 18:08, 28 November 2022 (UTC)
- Merge per above. 162 etc. (talk) 01:57, 9 December 2022 (UTC)
