I changed the word 'sun' in the second paragraph to 'star' simply because 'Sun' (Sol) is the proper name that we give to the star of our solar system and not a generic term (star). Although I made the change, I can understand why someone might refer to it as a 'Sun'. For example, when we talk about satellites of other planets, we call them 'moons'- but the word 'moon' is a generic term and in english, we rarely call it by it's proper name Luna. Calling our moon "the moon" is analogous to referring to the Sun by it's generic term 'the Star'. Calling all stars 'Suns' (Like they did in this article) is analogous to calling all moons 'Lunas'. If anyone has any logical argument against my edit, feel free to change it back but please give your reasoning here in the Talk Page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.71.167.72 (talk) 01:31, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I disagree, calling all moons "Lunas" is more like calling all suns "Sol". To my mind, a sun is the star a planet's orbiting. I haven't changed it, just expressing my opinion here. MorkaisChosen (talk) 09:35, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Single environmental characteristic
[edit]I deleted the line about single environmental characteristics- it's a gas giant, that's a type of planet we know about, so I don't think that sentence really made sense. Edited the first sentence to say it's a gas giant so as to keep that information in. MorkaisChosen (talk) 09:35, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
huh?
[edit]"The Millennium Falcon, by Han Solo's admission, barely made it there from the Anoat system without the hyperdrive."
Is this article about the Falcon, the Anoat system, hyperdrive or Bespin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.185.85.58 (talk) 05:25, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
The phrase "the 1980 feature film Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" is inaccurate because the 1980 version was not titled Episode V.
[edit]The original film released in 1980 did not have the words "Episode V" in its title. Those words were added to the title when it was re-released a few years ago with digital remastering, better sound, and more scenes.
Therefore, the reference to "the 1980 feature film Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" is incorrect. This sentence should have either the 1980 title, or the year that Episode V was added to the title.

Bespin → Cloud City (Star Wars) – It seems to me that the reason Cloud City, which is located above the planet Bespin, is the more notable of the two when it comes to this Star Wars location. Bespin is simply the place where Cloud City is located; Cloud City itself is where the events of The Empire Strikes Back (which give the location its greatest notability) take place, and likewise for subsequent appearances in other Star Wars novels, video games, etc. I would suggest this article be rewritten slightly to be focused on Cloud City, within which it can be stated that it's located in Bespin. And frankly, the article needs some reworking anyway so it's not merely in-universe plot summary (I could possibly undertake this a bit myself in the future), but if it were renamed to Cloud City, a great deal of behind-the-scenes content could be added about the Cloud City scenes in The Empire Strikes Back, among other content. — Hunter Kahn 20:13, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose Since the article lacks references anyway, it would be a good idea to simply make the Cloud City article yourself if you can prove it passes WP:GNG. The disambiguation currently at Cloud City can be moved to Cloud City (disambiguation) if there was such an article. Then, if the Bespin article isn't notable you can nominate it for deletion. The two are about different things, so moving it wouldn't accomplish anything.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 22:10, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- Fair enough, I guess I could do this, though I still think the requested move is the more appropriate way to go. A question though: do you believe Bespin has any notability outside of Cloud City? — Hunter Kahn 23:03, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
- I'm going to say probably not, and it's better off redirected to List of Star Wars planets and moons along with most of the other Star Wars planet articles. They don't seem independently notable but a list could work fine.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 05:39, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

- Oppose. Although the action was set in the city, the name Bespin is far better known and more commonly used than Cloud City. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:46, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- Huh. I definitely didn't think that was the case at all. But I could be mistaken. lol — Hunter Kahn 16:58, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
