Any reason why the school district logo isn't on the main page?

The only reason the logo wasn't there is because no one took the time to do it! I just uploaded it for you :-) Enjoy!

Number of high schools in Beaverton School District

[edit]

The number of high schools in the BSD has changed from 7 to 8 as the International School of Beaverton has/will extend[ed] into the 9-12 grades, and is recognized as a high school by the BSD.Twigge 17:42, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is another option high school and it is called "Terra Nova". It's on the BSD website even though it doesn't have a website of it's own.

99 percentile?

[edit]

According to this article, entrance to Summa (a school for gifted students) requires students "having a 99 percentile on all state tests." However, to get 99 percentile means not to get a score of 99%, but to belong to the top 99% of examinees (i.e., not belong to the bottom 1%). Do they really need a 99 percentile, but not 99 "percentage"? I strongly doubt that those who are in a 99 percentile on state tests can be regarded as "gifted." --Occhanikov (talk) 11:10, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

@MB298: @Occhanikov: Actually, the 99th percentile means to be in the top 1%, that is to say, that 99% or more of the testees scored lower YBG (talk) 04:09, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@YBG: I wasn't the original poster of this... MB298 (talk) 04:12, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I realize that. Trying to do two things at once. I'll be pinging you shortly. YBG (talk) 04:15, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES; the elementary school page has no indication of notability or significance which warrants a page of its own. 331dot (talk) 22:56, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, should be merged. And even if it wasn't needs to be moved and cleaned up. Aboutmovies (talk) 18:56, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just going to redirect it, that's what I usually do. See Category:Elementary schools in Oregon. We have very few notable enough for articles. Most in the category are actually single school districts and/or a single multi-grade school. Valfontis (talk) 20:47, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I inadvertently deleted this section but have now restored it. YBG (talk) 07:06, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@MB298: You've been adding a number of pictures to the gallery. I'm wondering if there is a logical limit to this? I'm concerned that there is no logical place to stop -- and eventually everyone would like to have their own school included. My suggestion would be to be rather restrictive in this article, but then in the articles about each of the high schools, include a section about the feeder schools, which even if it included a gallery of each of them, would not be overbearing. Just a thought. YBG (talk) 04:21, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I've been thinking about that recently. Hillsboro School District is somewhat similar to this article, it lists the feeder schools with a short paragraph and an image. A downside to this would be that most schools do not have their own images yet. MB298 (talk) 04:28, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
