Auckland SuperSprintITM 500 Auckland – The race has never been known by this name. Falcadore (talk) 12:42, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There does seem to be an event from 2015 known as ITM Auckland Supersprint, and one upcoming in November. Is it a different event, or a case of two common names for the same event? Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 16:53, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is the same event. The second article tends to indicate it is the "Auckland International SuperSprint". Mattlore (talk) 21:27, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That is a placeholder name pending announcement of the 2016 event launch. Placeholder names should not be used. --Falcadore (talk) 00:11, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The title name shouldn't include the current sponsor of the event. Page should be returned to Auckland 500 and a consensus reached on the talk page about a new name (if any). Mattlore (talk) 21:26, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Either don't move from the present title, or move back to Auckland 500 as the most recent name for the race as of the 2012 edition.[2] The name has changed quite a bit; we shouldn't move the article until we can be sure the new title has become the most common one in the sources, at least for that year.--Cúchullain t/c 14:44, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Auckland 500Auckland SuperSprint – Unlike my previous name change, which proved too hasty, the 2016 event has now been launched as the Auckland SuperSprint (see: [3]) and the 2017 event is listed under the same name, (see: [4]) further reducing chance of a name change for the event with only ~5 weeks to go until the 2016 event.
