Antap'iti (Ayacucho)Antapite – The correct name in official maps is Antapite. – Frank R 1981 (talk) 18:03, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:06, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Frank R 1981: Currently Antapite redirects to Andavite, which is another geographical place. Is policy to use Spanish forms or Quechua forms? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 20:06, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Anthony Appleyard: It is advisable to use names from official maps and literature, to comply with Wikipedia standards of article naming (see Wikipedia:Article titles). Many names for Latin American geographic features in English language come from Spanish language sources, as it is the language used by the majority of the population, including people living nearby those geographic features. Local names are kept as alternate names, as long as they have a source for citations.
