Andy Biersack

How is he notable?

[edit]

As far as I can tell, the only real notability here is as a band member, I see no compelling reason not replace the redirect to Black Veil Brides. Hairhorn (talk) 13:12, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he's appeared on television at least four times that I know of (Montana Meth commercial, AT&T commerial, Tosh.0, The Voice), he's been nominated for several awards and won, he participated in that Metallica art show, he's appeared on the cover of many magazines, and he's somewhat of a minor star on Youtube with his videos reaching view numbers in the MILLIONS, so I find it hard to say that he's any less notable than any of the many people with tiny stubs of articles here on Wikipedia where their articles have as few as two references (whereas I could find at least 100 websites discussing Andy). Thatemooverthere (Talk) 21:15, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All of these involve his membership in a particular band, except possibly for the painting, which itself doesn't really establish anything. Hairhorn (talk) 00:28, 11 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well the commercials had nothing to do with Black Veil Brides; that was just Andy's occupation for a short time. And when he was on The Voice, he wasn't representing Black Veil Brides in any way, shape, or form; he was just there to support his girlfriend Juliet Simms for her audition. The Metallica art show didn't really have anything to do with Black Veil Brides, but he was probably only invited to present a piece because he's in the band (I mean, it is a music-based art show). And his early videos from when he was just making videos with his friends didn't have anything to do with the band either, but later when the band grew more notable, he began shifting over from simply being an internet blogger/comedian to a representative of the band, giving news on Black Veil Brides (but not losing the comedy!), so these are still reasons he could be notable independently from Black Veil Brides. Done. The requester meant that with "timecodes". I've cited it from 00:45 to 1:40 because he also states specifically that Wikipedia has got it wrong :) We have to be careful citing youtube, because it's not RS and some of what's there is copyvio, but I think this one is OK, and it's him speaking. --Stfg (talk) 20:45, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate the effort, but the "Knives and Pens" music video is not a citation that is needed. If you look at the article, you will see that there are little annotations throughout the page that say "citation needed". That is where citations need to be added, given that the references contain the information pertaining to the subject needing citation. — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 01:06, 15 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Instead it should be: He is the founder and lead vocalist for the American rock band Black Veil Brides. In May 2014, he started a solo music project under the moniker Andy Black, but he will slowly return to Black Veil Brides and the BBB Army by the end of 2016.

Please add the following information to the "Personal Life" section of this article.

On October 30, 2016, Biersack was involved in a physical altercation with his wife, Juliet Simms, on a flight back to Los Angeles.[1] According to the video testimony given by adult film actress Mary Carey, a witness to the incident, Simms forcibly struck Biersack in the face twice. Carey also stated Simms struck herself in the face with the airline handcuffs until her nose began to bleed, alleging that she was defending herself against Biersack. In a video recorded by another passenger, Simms accused her husband of breaking her ribs. Witnesses on the plane states Biersack did not lay a hand to Simms.[2] Both Simms and Biersack have addressed the incident via social media in separate statements.[3]

The incident has been reported by a myriad of news outlets, and both Simms and Biersack have independently released statements regarding the outburst. 69.199.56.75 (talk) 22:42, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the following to his Personal Life section:

"In October 2016, Biersack was involved in a physical altercation with his wife, Juliet Simms, during a flight. Witnesses stated that Simms "got louder and louder before striking Biersack in the face [sic]" and had to be separated. Biersack was said to have not retaliated physically. No charges were filed."

This incident was added to, and still remains on, Juliet Simms' Wikipedia in November. Here are the multiple sources to corroborate this occurrence: http://loudwire.com/black-veil-brides-andy-biersack-wife-juliet-simms-altercation-on-flight/
