Review

[edit]

There is problematic extensive use of WP:External links that, as far as I can tell, vary between acting as references or simple outbound navigation links. These will need to be cleaned, but because of their varied nature, cannot be done unilaterally and will require individual analysis.

The draft relies on making promotional-style claims however uses citations authored or related to the subject and therefore cannot be used to promote the subject in a WP:NPOV summary style required of Wikipedia.

There is also a lot of WP:BLP material that will require verification and/or additional or first citations or will need to be removed.

I've conducted the very basics of copy editing, transforming the table to the proper infobox but there is lots of work to be done on this article. Bobby Cohn (talk) 21:14, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I just ran Draftcleaner on the article and ended up turning all the external links into references. Whoops. Will clean that up. Reconrabbit 21:24, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, at a minimum the external links have been taken care of. This article needs some looking at for sure - maybe by GraziePrego, who wrote the good article on Monique Ryan, another neuroscientist? Reconrabbit 21:38, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've also notified the draft submitter, @Estermoyb. Hopefully we can begin to improve the draft and bring it to mainspace quality without having to cut too much content. Bobby Cohn (talk) 15:58, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful! Thank you so much. Sorry for any inconveniences. I tried my best. 2.97.150.19 (talk) 16:16, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have made cuts - more cuts needed. A Wikipedia article is not a CV. Strongly recommend a section for Selected publications that can list 5-10 journal articles and books, and then remove the way-too-many journal article refs elsewhere in the article. Also, cut minor awards and shorten list of academic positions to notable. David notMD (talk) 12:08, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, this is an issue I see frequently with profs that will easily clear WP:NPROF but then end up being a violation of our WP:NOT policy, so much so that I've been trying to write an instructional essay, you can see the point I'm trying to deliver is all I've got right now.
