History

[edit]

After the 2006 census, Borkhar and Meymeh County was divided into Borkhar County and Shahinshahr and Meymeh County,[a] the latter of which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each.[4] In 2024, Meymeh District was separated from the county to establish Meymeh and Vazvan County, and Azan Rural District was created in the new Central District.[2]
