Azan (Persian: ازان)[a] is a village in, and the capital of, Azan Rural District of the Central District of Meymeh and Vazvan County, Isfahan province, Iran.[4]
Demographics

[edit]At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 2,578 in 731 households, when it was in Vandadeh Rural District of the former Meymeh District of Borkhar and Meymeh County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 2,966 people in 917 households,[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Shahin Shahr and Meymeh County.[7][b] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 3,102 people in 1,014 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In 2024, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Meymeh and Vazvan County, and the rural district was transferred to the new Central District. Azan Rural District was created in the district.[4]
