The 2026 United States Senate election in New Hampshire will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the state of New Hampshire. Incumbent three-term Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who was re-elected in 2020, is running for re-election to a fourth term in office.
Background
[edit]New Hampshire is considered to be a slightly to moderately blue state at the federal level, with Kamala Harris carrying the state by roughly 3 percentage points in the 2024 presidential election. Democrats also control both U.S. Senate seats and both seats in New Hampshire's U.S. House congressional delegation. However, Republicans control the governorship, the state legislature, and a majority in the executive council.[1][2]
Shaheen was first elected in 2008 defeating then-incumbent senator John Sununu and was re-elected in 2014 and 2020.[3]
