Information icon Hello, I'm Gaudeamus igitur 1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Constitutional recognition of Indigenous Australians, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Preceding undated comment added 08:04, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Gaudeamus_igitur_1. I see that you have been blocked as a malicious sockpuppet. I will in time restore valid content impaired by your frivolous antics. Bjenks (talk) 02:36, 8 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lacking any previous info or communication on this interesting body, I have inquired into some of the candidates, none relevant to Australia, but will abstain from voting on this occasion.Bjenks (talk) 02:47, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Voting for coordinators is now open!

[edit]

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:40, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Tom's funeral

[edit]

The family may have wanted to keep the funeral private, or not completely public, so I would politely suggest that you adjust your message to "contact me, User:Gnangarra or WikiMedia Australia for funeral details". The-Pope (talk) 14:57, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A good thought, thanks. However, the referenced website notice clearly states "ALL ARE MOST WELCOME TO ATTEND". Attenders may find that Tom's interests were not exclusively in Wikimedia. Bjenks (talk) 15:09, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, they had a memorial session before Christmas and you had to contact Wikimedia Aust to get the zoom call link, so I wasn't sure how public they wanted it to be. The-Pope (talk) 15:46, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The family held the memorial service for the non buddist community and this funeral will not be in english nor a conventional funeral but rather follow the practices there. Yes you are welcome to attend but for most they wont understand what is happening or what is expected of them. Gnangarra 16:01, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have taken it down from the meetup page, its not a meetup and the name was misspelt Gnangarra 16:07, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Who else are planned to be kept in the dark? Not my way, nor Tom's.
No one was or is being kept in the dark, the family is doing as per his thoughts and comments while here with us. A public memorial for Wikimedians, Rail enthusists, for friends from all parts of his life. The live stream was organsied for people who couldnt attend in person all of that was open. The budhist part isnt in english, it was the families decision to not publicise it to Wikimedians as most people wont understand what is happening or why and the various cultural practices taking place. My part in this was to bring all his different worlds together, ensure the live stream worked for those who couldnt attend. Notices were placed in various channels including here and in The West Australian as early as possible. If you want to go then go but respect the family decisions they knew his wishes better than any of us. Gnangarra 17:12, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
