The prizes.

[edit]

Hello there, I was wondering if by any chance for those who live generically outside of the European Union, that if they can receive a prize designated to their proper currency (e.g. USD for those who live in the US) 'If by any chance they win I also want to note if this contest is open only for those who live in the EU. Thank you. 🄼🄾🄳 🄲🅁🄴🄰🅃🄾🅁 (talk) 03:53, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mod creator!
Winners will get a vouchers (gift cards), not the money. So if you win, you could ask for voucher for e.g. Amazon or Spotify or nearly anything else. The necessary administrative requirement is that the voucher must be possible to purchase from Slovakia (the country of residence of the treasurer).
The competition is opened world-wide. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 13:09, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, very much appreciated. Hope that cleared up the confusion a bit! - 🄼🄾🄳 🄲🅁🄴🄰🅃🄾🅁 (talk) 03:14, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks how can I participate Favor Nk (talk) 16:55, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Myanmar

[edit]

Not including Myanmar? Yanlinnnaung (talk) 08:36, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not including Myanmar, only the territories mentioned in the rules. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 13:11, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of Transnistria

[edit]

Why don't the participation rules include "Transnistria" as a region in central southern Europe? This is not a suggestion, merely a question to better understand the policy. HolmKønøman (talk) 19:42, 18 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wikipedia, "Transnistria, officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, is an unrecognised breakaway state that is internationally recognised as part of Moldova." Wikipedia So, you can write about Transnistria and participate under Moldova. TheTypingKat (talk) 06:16, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@HolmKønøman: I officialy confinm TheTypingKat's explanation. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 13:57, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you get any certificate or award for completing this?

[edit]

Is it just the prize or an award too?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tanyalikesmovies (talkcontribs) 23:17, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

the prize is the opportunity and the way we change lucky chances that can be used as tools for anyone, of course, and I mean this in a nice way, by anyone else. So don't embarrass yourself or those who should know otherwise. Auilerdan (talk) 17:52, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As presented on the competition page the main prizes are vouchers. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 13:59, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Article maintenance

[edit]

Are things like copy editing, link disambiguation, citation improvement, and template repairs included? ~CatMan 149(talk) 14:54, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

CatMan 149, yes, they are! But take into account, that significant part of evaluation is amount of useful content. And these improvements, while very valuable, tends to be rather small in size. The exceptions are articles Esperanto and L. L. Zamenhof which will be evaluated qualitatively on one-by-one basis. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 14:03, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Malta

[edit]

Malta is neither Central European nor Eastern European, it is Western European and Southern European. So, why is it included here? Epitome of Creativity (talk) 20:39, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Epitome of Creativity, it is a long history, but we are following the international team recommendations. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 14:05, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Basic Geography

[edit]

While I support this work, many of the nations listed are neither in Central or Eastern Europe, but in Central Asia, Pontic Steppe or the Caucuses. Historiaantiqua (talk) 05:32, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, Historiaantiqua, we (as well as the international CEE Spring team) are operating with some extended definition of CEE. --KuboF Hromoslav (talk) 17:24, 31 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Results?

[edit]

I thought that "The organizers will calculate and publish results in June 2022."... Just wondering. :-) KPX8 (talk) 19:10, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the main CEE project has started to compile the data here on the Metawiki, but it seems that the local organizer @KuboF Hromoslav has not been active on the English Wikipedia since the end of the event. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 23:22, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I've noticed. An interesting approach - let's start a challenge, and then forget about it... KPX8 (talk) 13:14, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

CEE Banner

[edit]

There is currently an empty banner about this CEE on Talk:War crimes in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Shouldn't it be filled? Otherwise it will prob get deleted AdrianHObradors (talk) 08:57, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
