Draft article for Ion District
[edit]Hello! I'm Katrina, here on behalf of the Ion. I'd like to suggest some improvements to the Wikipedia article about the innovation district. I'll be submitting requests at Talk:Ion Innovation District instead of editing the article myself, in order to comply with the site's conflict of interest rules.
There are many problems with the current Wikipedia article. For example, the text relies heavily on press releases, company websites, government documents, and Rice's student newspaper over secondary journalistic sources. Additionally, the article seems heavily skewed, focusing on the community benefits agreement and funding more than the campus and facilities. There is also some incorrect text and some outdated information. For these reasons, I've worked to draft a much improved Wikipedia article, which I've saved here for editors to review: User:KB Ion/Ion District.
I will be submitting a series of edit requests, starting with one to replace the current "Campus" section with the proposed "Description" section. Are any WikiProject Houston participants willing to review what I've proposed and copy over the content appropriately? Thanks! KB Ion (talk) 15:15, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Oldsanfelipe2 and WhisperToMe: I've suggested some article improvements for the Ion District article at Talk:Ion District, but getting editor feedback and assistance has been very difficult even using Template:Request edit. You are both listed as active participants of WikiProject Houston. Might you be able to review the edit requests alongside my proposed draft in order to address problems with the current article? Thanks for your consideration. KB Ion (talk) 21:21, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Houston → Wikipedia:WikiProject Texas/Houston – Merge this inactive task force into its state's project as a taskforce; matching the location of WP:WikiProject Texas/San Antonio. Much like how WP:WikiProject Los Angeles is a task force of WP:WikiProject California. Task force conversion, like how other inactive wikiprojects have been converted into taskforces of wikiprojects of a superset topic. This wikiproject has been inactive-status for 3 years[1] -- this would implement the supported proposal from 2020. -- 65.92.247.90 (talk) 22:27, 8 November 2023 (UTC)
- Comment: If this is moved to be a task force then the proper name (based on most task forces) is Wikipedia:WikiProject Texas/Houston task force. This can be seen by the same example given by the op which leads to Wikipedia:WikiProject California/Los Angeles area task force. Gonnym (talk) 19:07, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- Move to WP:WikiProject Texas/Houston task force per Gonnym. Anyway, the gist here is that we have too many moribund "micro-wikiprojects" and they need to merge to continue serving any purpose at all. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 21:13, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
