Differentiation of Churches Needed

I'm a Lutheran in the US. A lot of churches here call themselves 'Concordia Lutheran' as a reference to the Lutheran Confessions (and they aren't associated with the Swedish sect). We need to link 'Concordia Lutheran' to a disambiguation, rather than the article with which it's currently associated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.103.233.126 (talk) 01:18, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

WP 1.0 bot announcement

This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:33, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Expert help needed

As a neutral and hopefully mediating position related to Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy parts, I also ask for help here.

A few sections in Catholic–Eastern Orthodox theological differences have a seemingly inferior logic that perhaps affects a larger selection of subsections. Those interested who are proficient in theology, philosophy and logic, might give a helping hand by assessing relevant subsections and giving comment at the talk page HERE! Thank you for your attention, and otherwise happy editing! Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 09:17, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern

Please distinguish Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, the chorale, as of 27 July 2010, from the Bach cantata Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, BWV 1 that formerly had this name. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:41, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Please, rename Hungarian Evangelical Church

Hi, I am a hungarian lutheran pastor. Please, rename Hungarian Evangelical Church. The correct name would be Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary or Lutheran Church in Hungary. Thanks. - Tkarcsi (talk) 20:14, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

I have moved the article and used the name from the English website. --παγκρἃτωρ/pankrator 20:27, 5 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pankrator (talkcontribs)

Lutheranism articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles were selected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Lutheranism articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject's articles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

Christianity portals

I am currently trying to get together some lists of articles relevant to each Christianity-related portal which could be used, at least potentially, to help bring all the extant portals up to Featured Portal status. The current, admittedly incomplete, list of articles, images, etc., relevant to each portal can be found at User:John Carter/Christianity portals. I also think that, at least in theory, we would probably best use a single article only in a single portal, and that we probably have enough articles to do that, although there might be a few exceptions. I would welcome input from anyone on the associated talk page regarding which articles and other materials they would like to see associated with which portal(s), any suggestions for additional portals or changes to existing portals, etc. Thank you. Zion Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas

Zion Lutheran Church (Fredericksburg, Texas) was part of Fredericksburg, Texas, but the content as it then existed on that page, took up almost the entirety of what was then "Fredericksburg in Religion". Because of the historic significance of the church, I felt it needed its own page. The wording was unchanged when I moved it over, and is not text of mine. Possibly, the text was lifted verbatim from a church brochure. I would encourage any interested editors who can re-work the text and provide verifiable sourcing to do so. The subject is worthy of its own page, but it needs considerable work. Maile66 (talk) 20:59, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

International Lutheran Fellowship

There appears to be an active dispute at International Lutheran Fellowship. Seventeen new editors have rewritten the page, which apparently involves some dispute. There isn't a single source. Could some experienced editors add it to their watchlist and help to make some sense out of the issues?   Will Beback  talk  08:49, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Request for input in discussion forum

Given the closely linked subjects of the various religion, mythology, and philosophy groups, it seems to me that we might benefit from having some sort of regular topical discussion forum to discuss the relevant content. I have put together the beginnings of an outline for such discussion at Wikipedia:WikiProject Religion/2011 meeting, and would very much appreciate the input of any interested editors. I am thinking that it might run over two months, the first of which would be to bring forward and discuss the current state of the content, and the second for perhaps some more focused discussion on what, if any, specific efforts might be taken in the near future. Any and all input is more than welcome. John Carter (talk)

Collaboration Article of the Month

Just letting everyone know that I removed the Collaboration of the Month, after suspecting that nobody has been paying attention to it for some years. After Lucas Cranach the Elder was made COTM article for July 2011, not a single article was made to the article during the entire month. Therefore, I have decided to be bold and remove the COTM from the WikiProject page. If there are any objections to this, we can discuss them here. I would love more collaboration! Opinion sought regarding Eternal Life

We are having a 3 way discussion on the issue of Eternal Life in Christianity.

The specific issue at hand is that of eternal life being only "here and now" vs having a component "in the future" as well.

A few informed comments based on suitable sources will be appreciated. Thanks. History2007 (talk) 12:48, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Potentially malicious acts at Wilhelm Busch (pastor)

I'd like to ask for 3rd party opinion, in the article on Wilhelm Busch (pastor) there been performed deletions that I personally regard for strange. The claim is that edits are removed because "material not relevant to articles subject. (TW)" but I regard the text for absolutely OK as it correctly states from sourced information that pastor Busch influenced Ulrich Parzany, who continued after Billy Graham in ProChrist evangelic international campaigns. Moreover, the book by Busch has been removed from article sections dedicated to Bibliography (* Busch, Wilhelm (2009). Plaudereien in meinem Studierzimmer (in German) (11 ed.). p. 299. ISBN 978-3761557044. {{cite book}}: Text "publisher Aussaat" ignored (help)) under the same flag which sounds absolutely irrational to me. Please advise. --Stephfo (talk) 17:50, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Proposed redirection of Christianity subproject talk pages

I have recently started discussion about possibly eliminating the use of a separate talk page for it here. Input from any interested editors is very welcome and encouraged. Thank you. John Carter (talk) 22:19, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
