Requested move 22 October 2023
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved to Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events/Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization task force. Clear consensus that this would be a better name than the current title. Also might be worth some further discussion as to whether this page should still exist, but deciding that is out of scope of this close. Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events/Court Case Task Force → Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events/Taskforce Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health – "Court Case Task Force" is horribly generic. Clearly there are many important court cases that occur, and this one doesn't indicate what its scope is in the naming. The taskforce page clearly states that it is only for "Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health" USSC; thus would not be confused with any new taskforce on any newer court case -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 22:17, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- Why not just rescope the task force to cover all court cases? BD2412 T 23:20, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- If that occurs, it should become a shared TF between WPLAW and WPCurrent, and the task force banner then would need to be kept around, instead of being deleted as it is currently proposed for. Though, other TFs of WP Current Events seem to be for singular events, and not recurring events: Special:Prefixindex/WP:WikiProject Current events/ -- if recurrant event TFs were set up, then a crime, death, election, battle, spacelaunch, disaster, earthquake, tsunami, and weather (storm, coldwave, heatwave, ...) TFs would seem obvious to also have. -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 23:31, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
- The words "task force" should be at the end of the task force, not the begining. Other than that, sure, no problem. Oppose to changing the scope as this task force really should just be deleted as it never really had any reason to exist in the first place (3 users and 4 articles tagged). Changing the scope will not get more editors to this. There are many other projects and task forces for law-related pages, any user that actually wants to help should look at those pages instead of creating more work for other editors to clean after. - WP:WikiProject Current events/Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health task force is acceptable to me. I am the nominator -- 65.92.244.127 (talk) 03:47, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- Obviously I'm for anything that improves on the status quo (i.e. WP:BARTENDER), but I'd use the full name of the case and article: WP:WikiProject Current events/Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization task force. That said, given that this is apparently "inactive or closed" and involves something that's no longer a current event, an even better idea would be to just WP:BLAR it to the main Wikipedia:WikiProject Current events page.
