'Soap opera' tag in TV dramas

I have noticed that many of the pages for TV drama have been tagged with However these dramas are not strictly soap operas as defined by Soap opera, as they are one-off with fixed number of episodes. Maybe simply {WPCLE} tag is suffice. Any objections on them being replaced? --Michaela den (talk) 14:45, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

This category handles some very random entertainment shows/events etc that would not be covered as a soap. For example Poverty Campaign: Speak Up is not a soap, film, movie, documentary. And there are many more articles like it. Benjwong (talk) 03:12, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

This is a long-term unreferenced biography of a living person. Notability is asserted but more than one editor has tried, and failed, to provide reliable sources to support the text. It would be really helpful if an editor who can read Chinese and has an interest in the area could take a look.--Plad2 (talk) 21:24, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Qian Zhijun/Little Fatty debate

Hi! There is a debate over whether Qian Zhijun is now notable enough for Wikipedia,. Please see: Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Qian_Zhijun Especially for people who know Chinese, it is appreciated if you review the noticeboard post! WhisperToMe (talk) 02:08, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Does anyone know how I can find the box office numbers of "The University Days of a Dog" (一只狗的大学时光)? Official DVD sales would be good too!

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 18:07, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Chinese-language entertainmentWikipedia:WikiProject China/Chinese-language entertainment – This wikiproject is inactive, I suggest merging it to WPCHINA as a taskforce, similar to how other inactive wikiprojects are converted into taskforces of greater active projects for better coverage 70.50.151.11 (talk) 17:21, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Discussion

Any additional comments:

I will note that WPCHINA's Modern Chinese music workgroup was converted into this WikiProject, while it remains signed onto WPCHINA's banner. It's time to return it to WPCHINA. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 17:32, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Comment: While we are at it, how many of Category:China-related WikiProjects are actually active? Timmyshin (talk) 04:06, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Not all of those can be simply merged though, (HK,Macau,Tibet will have the same problem as trying to merge WPTAIWAN (something that isn't listed in the category but has low activity; and I wouldn't want to try to merge them to WPCHINA anyways, if we need to merge away HK/Macau/Tibet/Taiwan, they should go to WPEASTASIA; there's already an issue about Macau/HK editors and POV edits to PRC aritlces... to say nothing about the Taiwan/PRC editing issues) It would be easier if PRC were to have it's own taskforce, so other editors don't see some PRC behemoth dominating articles. The same problem exists for diaspora articles, having a diaspora taskforce would show to say WPcountryY that WPCHINA isn't the PRC taking over country Y's articles. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 06:04, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Comment: I've been able to find Chinese-language films from Singapore that haven't been co-produced in either the PRC or ROC. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:43, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Leaflet for Wikiproject China/Chinese language entertainment at Wikimania 2014

Hi all,

My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.

One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.

This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:

• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film

• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.

• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.

• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____

• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost

The deadline for submissions is 1st July 2014

For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

The Chinese languages aren't solely a matter of China, and Chinese-language entertainment, television, films, are mostly not part of China, but Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, and so on. Other re-upmerge this WP to WP Entertainment, or make it a standalone WP. 58.153.97.184 (talk) 20:10, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
