Big Brother Sweden and Big Brother (Sweden)
I want to move Big Brother Sweden to Big Brother (Sweden), right now it's a redirect to Big Brother (Sweden and Norway). Can someone help me? --Larvig (talk) 23:28, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Guests in UK nomination tables
I've noticed the inclusion of "Guest" in the nominations table (the newest example being Jasmine re-entering CBB10 for a task) - are guests needed here? With one or two exceptions, the guests are usually not even present for nominations anyway, making the tables a bit more cluttered than they need to be. A quick look through shows Jon from BB4 to be the only 'guest' present for nominations, versus Chanelle BB8, Ben BB11, Nathan BB11, Rachael BB11, Rebeckah BB12, Tashie BB12 and Jasmine CBB10 who each returned for for perhaps a few hours max for a task, each unrelated to nominations. Is their inclusion in the series summary enough? 198.144.105.218 (talk) 22:50, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Proposal for consideration by all BB project members
Guest visitors such as Jedward and Vanessa Phelps, who have no involvement in the nomination and eviction process, should not be included in the table which, as can be seen from the Project page, is solely for the purpose of recording the nomination and eviction of resident housemates. Former housemates from a current or previous series, who return to the house purely for the purpose of participating in tasks and with no involvement in the nomination and eviction process, should not have an existing table entry modified (or new entry created in the case of a previous series contestant).
Nominations made by friends and family (whether on behalf of their housemate or based on their own opinion) does not require the listing of their names. A simple footnote can explain the circumstances in which non-standard, "in lieu" nominations were made.
Cases for a guest to be included or re-included in the nominations & evictions table would be, for example:
- where their involvement creates a direct impact on the process of nomination and eviction
- where a stay is clearly longer than for a purpose of a temporary stay for the duration of a specific task.
I would be grateful for the proposal to be considered by the wider BB community of editors and for agreement to modify the project page accordingly when the correct wording has been agreed. Leaky Caldron 11:19, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment - as Leaky knows, there has been a heated and inconclusive discussion on the topic at Talk:Celebrity_Big_Brother_10#Jasmine_guest. I'm not listed as a member of the BB Project, though I find myself regularly monitoring and editing articles. I initially came down in favour of maintaining the status quo (listing Jasmine as a guest), because the small and fairly insignificant change did not warrant the tremendous animosity it was generating. However, Leaky makes a very reasonable proposal in point one, which allows the inclusion of 'guests' in the noms/eviction table in limited circumstances. I think this is a very sensible compromise, which would free the table from distracting clutter in most instances.
- However, point two seems to exclude almost every instance of 'guests'. Jasmine and her mum had a direct impact on the nomination process because they had the opportunity to give immunity to two hoosemates. They made a lengthy appearance in the hoose, but it was effectively only for one task. Point two seems overly restrictive and seems to be creating the situation where no 'guests' will appear under any circumstances. I would suggest point two is either relaxed, so a genuine compromise can be reached. Sionk (talk) 13:01, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- IF their presence HAD made an impact I would certainly agree. In fact though, it didn't. The task was failed and no HMs were given immunity. Leaky Caldron 13:20, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- So you're suggesting/agreeing that, if a guest makes an impact on nominations/evictions, they could be included as a 'guest' on the nominations/evictions table? And if, like in Jasmine-gate, no impact was ultimately made, their visit is simply described somewhere else? That would seem genuinely straightforward, reasonable and sensible to me. No doubt you'll want to wait and see what others think. Sionk (talk) 13:48, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- As in bullet 1, yes. However, per WP:CRYSTALish, I would prefer not to include them until the outcome is known. If Jasmine had passed the task and influenced nominations by providing HM immunity it would be entirely sensible to include them in the table of nominations and evictions. Sponsorship
Why is the sponsorship mentioned in the lead summary of Big Brother articles? Is this normal for television shows? Seems a bit WP:Tabloidy GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 17:24, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
Naming Articles
Following a conversation with another user, it has brought up the question... what should the housemate pages be titled? The U.S. edition pages are named List of Big Brother xx (U.S.) HouseGuests, with HouseGuests being capitalized, whereas the UK editions are List of Big Brother xx housemates (UK). I have been going through and expanding the pages of the UK seasons, including the Housemate pages. Personally, I feel that the pages of the UK seasons should match that of the US, being listed as List of Big Brother xx (UK) Housemates, with Housemates being capitalized as HouseGuests are in the US. What is everyone else's thoughts on this? :) -- Sethjohnson95 - 9:40 23 February, 2013
- There was a requested move for the UK housemate pages but it closed as "not moved". However, I'm wondering about the naming of the actual main series (season) articles. I know the UK articles have been moved many times over the years, and we were using the year to identify the series until they decided to have two Celebrity Big Brothers every year. But I don't think the current series is called Big Brother 14, but it's the 14th series of Big Brother and ought to have a title more like Big Brother (UK series 14). Then the list of housemates would be List of Big Brother housemates (UK series 14) –anemoneprojectors– 09:43, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Leaflet for Wikiproject Big Brother at Wikimania 2014
Hi all,
My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.
One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.
This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:
• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film
• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.
• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.
• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____
• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost
The deadline for submissions is 1st July 2014
For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Including eviction votes in UK nomination tables

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)
WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Same color for 'Banned' housemates and 'Nominated' housemates?
I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but what is the reason for this? Shouldn't banned housemates be grey instead, unless they have been nominated for eviction by Big Brother? — RachelRice (talk, contribs) — 04:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
RachelRice OMG. Thank you for this. I think the Indian Big Brother articles' nominations tables are more accurate in this sense.[1]- Check this out guys and let me what you think. ThisIsDanny Msalmon Leaky caldron
Example | Meaning |
---|---|
Austin, James |
When a housemate nominates another housemate through the standard nominations process. |
Banned | The housemate was nominated as a punishment prior to the nominations process and also cannot nominate as part of punishment. |
Banned | The housemate cannot nominate as punishment but is eligible to receive eviction votes. |
Nominated | The housemate was nominated prior to the nominations process and is ineligible to vote or receive votes. |
Austin, James |
The housemate can nominate but was nominated before the nominations process due to a miscellaneous reason. |
Not eligible |
The housemate cannot nominate for a miscellaneous reason. |

Cast tables
Hi all, I just went through all of the Big Brother UK season articles and boldly converted the Housemate lists to bulleted lists, for example in these edits. Although bold, the justification for these changes are several:
- Community consensus already exists at MOS:TV#Cast for the formatting of casts lists as bulleted lists, not in tabular format.
- There's really no reason for the content to be presented in tabular format when we are talking about three pieces of information: name, age and hometown that are easily communicated in a bulleted list.
- The Big Brother articles are very table-laden already, which presents numerous WP:ACCESSIBILITY issues.
- I interpret Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother#Use of tables as an encouragement to reduce the number of tables in these articles.
The need for a large amount of tables has been eliminated with the integration of colours in the infobox, but the use of one or two as a way to clearly and easily provide information is not a bad thing.
Most of the articles I changed already have the one or two acceptable tables and surely don't need more. - Good Article criterion 1b requires that articles follow MOS guidelines, including those for list incorporation. Tables are for more complex types of lists, with some of these as examples:
Tables might be used for presenting mathematical data such as multiplication tables, comparative figures, or sporting results. They might also be used for presenting equivalent words in two or more languages; for awards by type and year; complex discographies; etc.
There's nothing inherently complex about the cast lists that necessitates the grid.
I do want to also mention that most of the Housemate lists I saw were not consistent with the guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject Big Brother#Housemates, since the lists I saw included ages, not birthdates, for instance. I know that many of the Housemate sections had been split off into their own articles, which is fine, but then really, for consistency with other TV articles on Wikipedia, what should remain is probably just a bulleted list of names, and nothing else. Just a thought. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 19:12, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
Cyphoidbomb I'm glad you've started this section. Good job. Until more editors take part in this discussion and a legitimate consensus is reached the existing system of tables will be in place. Cheers. --LulzWhateven (talk) 19:22, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Struck comment by sockpuppet of indefinitely blocked User:Imtitanium —Psychonaut (talk) 08:53, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
Warning: serial hoaxer and copyright violator
Members of this WikiProject should be vigilant for edits by sockpuppets of User:Imtitanium, who for several years has been adding fictitious gossip and copyright violations to Big Brother–related articles (particularly Indian shows such as Bigg Boss). The hoaxes can be difficult to spot because they are usually accompanied by legitimate-looking references; if you actually click through and read the cited sources, however, you'll find that they don't support the claims being made. (For further details please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive814#Imtitanium (persistent copyright/BLP violations) and Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Imtitanium.)
If you notice an IP or relatively new user adding salacious or sensational information to Big Brother-related articles, and the references don't check out or seem suspicious, please report the matter at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Imtitanium. Established editors in good standing are also invited to help clean up the existing suspected hoaxes and copyright violations, which are listed at Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Imtitanium. —Psychonaut (talk) 08:53, 21 October 2015 (UTC)

Bigg Boss 10
Do we really need nominations and voting history table on Bigg Boss 10? The tables were not there on Bigg Boss 9 where user TheRedPenOfDoom said When we have articles about fiction, we care about what third parties have said about the plot/meaning/impact, not trivial recreations of the work. I removed these tables few times and starts a discussion on talk page but some SPA users and IPs are keep adding it back without any discussion. Thank you – GSS (talk) 12:04, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.)
There is also a move discussion at Talk:Celebrity_Big_Brother_(U.S.)#Requested_move_11_September_2017 where it is currently being discussed whether or not Celebrity Big Brother (U.S.) should stay or if it should be moved to Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. TV series).

Request for change
In the first sentence for the Structure of Series articles state: A note: Articles for a series of Big Brother should not be created until there are promos on television. This, and only this, should be taken as a sign that Big Brother will be happening, and is good enough a reason to create an article. Anything else, unless it can be confirmed by some high up-there television executive guy, is not enough reason to create a series' article, and is most likely speculation. Another reason not to create an article so early is that there will most likely be no information in it. Lack of information, or information that's already in other articles, is pointless. Any articles about a Big Brother series that has not been confirmed should be nominated for deletion via WP:AFD.
I think it would be better change to until there are enough reliable sources or promos on television. An example of a recent case is that promos for Celebrity Big Brother (U.S. TV series) did not release promos until December 2017 and did not start airing them on CBS until January 2018. however there were enough reliable sources to create this article the day the series was announced while Big Brother 19 (U.S.) was still airing in September 2017. Another reason for this is that CBS has double renewed Big Brother for BB 17&18 and BB 19&20 and I believe there would be enough information to create the article now even though the series will most likely not be airing until summer 2018. Anyone else have any comments/preferences on this? TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:28, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- Of course we should wait until sufficient reliable sources exist before creating articles pertaining to Big Brother. It doesn't matter whether they come a few weeks or a few months before the season premieres. Another thing to point out is rumors should NEVER be included as they may not necessarily come true. OfficerAPC (talk) 04:30, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- @OfficerAPC: That's exactly what I'm saying. Many times especially with U.S. and UK series there is enough information to create an article before promos air on television. That's exactly why I'm making this request for change because depending on the network series could begin airing promos a few weeks or a few months. I agree with the rumors we could include that too if we find it necessary. TheDoctorWho (talk) 04:36, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
Any last objections before I change this??? TheDoctorWho (talk) 19:08, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Done The article has been updated to reflect the changes mentioned above. TheDoctorWho (talk) 20:18, 25 January 2018 (UTC)
