  • Does "was bitterly attacked by Democratic newspapers for allegedly trying to buy the presidency with McKinley as his easily dominated agent." need a comma before with?
  • One Democratic representative was absent, out sick, - why the duplication? Just "out sick" perhaps.

  • "Hanna refused to testify and asked supporters not to." - "... to do the same" perhaps?
  • Fix citation needed tag (direct quote).
