Apologies for badgering

I applied for a copy of a rare piece for assisting my rewrite of the Zionism in the Age of the Dictators article. The request was satisfied expeditiously. It appears I need to read just one more, an article cited several times on wiki, but without any details given of its contents. The article in question is by Uri Davis Book review: Zionism in the Age of the Dictators: a reappraisal by Lenni Brenner, and The Iron Wall by Lenni Brenner in Race & Class July 1985, volume = 27, issue =2 pages = 91–96

I hope this is accessible via wiki. If not, patience.

German-language Catalogue of Romanian folktales by Adolf Schullerus

[edit]
  • Schullerus, Adolf. Verzeichnis der rumänischen Märchen und Märchenvarianten. Folklore Fellows Communications, 1928. 99 pp.

For Romanian folklore and related articles about Romanian fairy tales.

The work is a preliminary catalogue of Romanian folktales according to the then recent revision of the international Aarne-Thompson-Uther Index (known at the time - 1928 - as AaTh). From this book, I'm requesting the section about tale type 407, "The Girl as Flower" (for The Bay-Tree Maiden); types 425-449, section about the Tierbräutigam (for Trandafiru and The Enchanted Pig), and type 707, "The Three Golden Children" (for The Boys with the Golden Stars and A String of Pearls Twined with Golden Flowers).

Adolf Schullerus [ro]'s book was translated into Romanian in 1966, and, according to some digging up, has not been updated since then, which means the original German-language version (1928) seems to be the most complete catalogue of Romanian tales.

Thanks, GrahamHardy (talk) 23:24, 15 November 2022 (UTC) Looking for the help under url!, I got the url from gale, so I tried adding http:\\ but it did not help so I removed them again... I have no idea what I am supposed to do here, Anyway at least I got the newspaper pages and dates! GrahamHardy (talk) 23:58, 15 November 2022 (UTC) I moved the newspaper names from title to work but I'm not sire if that helped! GrahamHardy (talk) 00:04, 16 November 2022 (UTC) No idea how I should fix the urls! all I appear to have done is remove the titles!, Anyway I am getting nowhere, hopefully somebody can fix things correctly! GrahamHardy (talk) 00:07, 16 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

GrahamHardy, I think it'd work if you added https:// (not http:\\) to the URLs and filled in the title parameter? Oh well, doesn't matter: I've clipped the first one for you here, and the second one should be available through ProQuest at this link. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing either of those. State of the Art Surgical Coronary Revascularization

[edit]

State of the art RS in CABG

  • State of the Art Surgical Coronary Revascularization (2021) Edited by David P Taggart and John D Puskas, by Oxford University Press [29]

I need to lay my hands on this book for CABG which I am preparing for GA Nomination, and Anatomy of the human heart

This masterpiece has many interesting chapters. I know that it is not appropriate to have the whole book, so

  • Chapter 7 Invasive Investigation of Coronary Artery Disease
  • Chapter 16:Early and Late Outcomes after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft,
  • Chapter 18:Preoperative Assessment in Coronary Bypass Surgery (Daniel Sellers and George Djaiani), Daniel Sellers and George Djaiani
  • Chapter 20:Postoperative Management after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery, Jason Chui and John Murkin
  • Chapter 23:Management of Cardiopulmonary bypass, Robert A Baker, David Fitzgerald, and Robert C. Groom
  • Chapters 27-46: Very much needed.

I hope it is not too much to ask. Cinadon36 11:30, 17 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Experimental Wireless

[edit]

{{resolved}}

I need the paper of which,

Experimental Wireless & the Wireless Engineer, vol. 2, p. 446, 1925

forms a part. Or at least, the full citation details of the article. Sorry, I don't know the author. Also

  • Charles Proteus Steinmetz, Frederick Bedell, "Reactance", Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, vol. 11, pp. 640–648, 1894.

For Oliver Heaviside and possibly Electrical reactance as well.

Thanks, SpinningSpark 09:15, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Spinningspark, the Experimental Wireless article should be available here, and the Transactions of the AIEE should be available here. Let me know if those don't work. Cheers, Extraordinary Writ (talk) 23:09, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Extraordinary Writ: Thanks, got them. Only problem is the transactions pagination is completely different to what IEEEXplore says it is. The paper does not start of page 640, but on page 768. Any ideas on that discrepance, or how it should be propoerly cited? SpinningSpark 20:14, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Spinningspark, not sure (a different edition, maybe?), but I did manage to find this version at the Internet Archive, which does start at page 640. I think it'd be fine to cite either one. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 23:19, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request for 1950s-beyond South China Morning Post articles about Li Sing Primary School

[edit]

{{resolved}} For Li Sing Primary School -- Dear editors,

I checked by Wikipedia Library subscription and telephoned the University of Houston Libraries about whether they carried archives of the South China Morning Post in the 1950s, but it seems their archives only begin in 1993. I want to see if any institutions have archives of the South China Morning Post in the 1950s up to 1993, as I want to write in depth about the establishment of Li Sing Primary School.

Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 00:04, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WhisperToMe – emailed you. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:44, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I found info on "Sir Ellis Kadoorie (S) Primary School" on the second article and am interested in seeing more, especially as I am also interested in learning more about Kadoorie school. WhisperToMe (talk) 05:07, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
WhisperToMe sent three about Li Sing Primary School from 1953-1965. --Worldbruce (talk) 06:28, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! I got new information from both batches. There are other HK schools which could have their articles improved, but I wonder if I should make a list of such with people searching through SCMP archives for each? WhisperToMe (talk) 06:46, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

l'Année philologique database

[edit]

This is a bit of an unusual request but does anyone have access to l'Année philologique's database online? Many universities and research libraries subscribe to it.

I'm trying to see if it mentions the following citation (converted to APh style): HORVÁTH H. I., Korszakok és irányok a Catullus-filológia történetében : AT VI 1959 123–135. The article's title in French is Époques et tendances dans l'histoire des recherches sur Catulle and its title in German is Epochen und Richtungen in der Geschichte der Catull-Philologie. It was published in volume 6 of the journal Antik Tanulmányok. Studia Antiqua (Budapest), but l'Année philologique makes extensive use of abbreviations for periodicals.

If it is included in the database I'd just appreciate knowing what print volume/page it's on and what summary is provided, thank you! I checked the print volumes 30 and 31 and didn't see it there, and am sort of assuming it's not indexed at all but just want to make sure I didn't miss it or it didn't appear in a later volume.

This is for List of bibliographies of works on Catullus.

Thanks!

I can't find this citation in this database. – Doc TaxonTalk 10:42, 25. Nov 2022 (UTC)
For AT VI I only could find these entries:
  • La propriété moyenne des fonctionnaires municipaux dans les environs d'Aquincum Article in journal
    Géza Alföldy
    Antik Tanulmányok, VI (1959) 19-30
  • Données sur la question de la longueur moyenne de la vie à Aquincum et dans le reste de la Pannonie Article in journal
    János György Szilágyi
    Antik Tanulmányok, VI (1959) 31-80
