Description

Small and average indian cities (Tier-2 and Tier-3) have lesser online visibility on Wikipedia, especially compared to large metropolis, while they are the larger majority of Indian cities. Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
At the moment there is no category, task force or project that specifically focuses on Tier-2 and Tier-3 Indian cities, so the aim is to put in the spotlight the fact that information about a certain city should be there. This project aims at facilitating the process of knowledge creation regarding small cities in India.

This would only make sense as a taskforce/workgroup (subproject) of WP:WikiProject India. "Smaller [than what?] Indian cities" isn't a discrete subject area, but simply a pile of similar-scope work for that broader wikiproject to get done, and it isn't going to attract a particular cadre of editors, any more than would, say, focusing on bantam-weight boxers in particular, or on Ford cars under a certain engine size, or TV shows with fewer than X number of episodes before they were cancelled. This is basically a generic "let's work on stub articles" idea that happens to be about populated places in India.  — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼  23:20, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
