Description
[edit]Eminem is the best-selling hip hop artist of the decade, if I got my statistics right. All his 35 singles, 5 of his other songs, 17 collaborations, and 7 studio albums have their own articles (plus more). Unfortunately, almost none of the articles related to Eminem are of satisfactory quality. Currently, only Eminem discography, Eminem, Fast Lane (song) and Love the Way You Lie (Part II) are good/featured status. A well organized WikiProject is what is needed to clean-up and expand all of the articles.
This WikiProject's scope covers all Eminem and Bad Meets Evil related pages, all Eminem collaborations and possibly other work that he played a significant role in. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 14:07, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

- Support Has large discography that needs improving, but I won't be joining. Calvin • NaNaNaC'mon! 15:00, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Nice idea - count me in! You're right, several of his articles require a large amount of re-doing. Sufur222 (talk) 16:46, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. Definetelly he deserves a WikiProject, he is one of the best rappers in the world, but I don't know If I could be active. I have WikiProject Rihanna and J-Lo on my shoulder, but I could help in little edits. Tomica1111 (talk) 17:33, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. 100%. Eminem has a very large scope, deserves a project to improve his articles. VítoR™ get LOUD! 17:54, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support With a large discography, I'm surprised this hasn't been created yet! I don't know if I'd join or not, as I'm a part of various other projects, but I definitely think this would be useful. :) ℥nding·start 20:08, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. The works by Eminem here are done pretty well, but new stuff such as movies (including Shady Talez), new songs, and work with D12 and Bad Meets Evil is higher than ever, and we should get ready to work on it. Personally, I agree with Penguin on this, because there is so much to be covered. Can't wait to help out! TomUSA 21:09, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. For being such a huge artist, Mr. Mathers most definitely needs a WikiProject. I'm not on this website much as an editor now, but I will definitely contribute with any of my free time. --KЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 22:25, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support. Eminem is one of the few talented rappers who actually makes music about issues in life and things that have meaning to it. I honor Eminem very much, and I think that he is one of the best rappers in the world.--Bobjonespie (talk) 02:45, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Hate the guy with a passion, but would be happy to support so that my fellow editors can track his articles and do the best they can. Wish the project and all you guys the best of luck!--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 22:56, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's great to see all this support. I'll wait another 24 hours. Unless there is any opposition, I'll go ahead and prepare the project right away. If there is, I'll discuss with the opposer. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 23:28, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- WikiProject Eminem is up! —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 22:27, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]Question from proposer: Should this proposal pass, should the project's scope cover D12 as well? Just wondering. Can I get some input? —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 21:33, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Seeing how closely connected Eminem has been with D12 throughout his career, including Kon Artis producing some of Bad Meets Evil's songs, I feel the project should definitely cover them. --KЯĀŽΨÇÉV13 22:22, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Before I place my opinion, I have a question. Aside from many supporting because he is successful and has a vast discography, are any of these editors going to actually join the project? If there are a few that are truly positive on working hard on his articles, like I do with Mariah, and Calvin and Tomica do with Rihanna, then I have no problem supporting. I just fear once its created, there will be no one really taking initiative and focusing on improving his articles.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 01:16, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - In reply to the above comment - of course, there will be editors that do nothing, but I am certain there will be many who are actively involved - I myself am currently going through his articles and sorting out the chart position tables. So I think there will be many editors who will help in this project. He is a widely respected enough artist for people to care enough about his pages, in my opinion. - And you're doing a great job at it too. Thanks for the help. People like yours truly, Sufur and TomUSA are definitely going to dedicate time into this project as they already do. —WP:PENGUIN · [ TALK ] 20:24, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
