02:52, 26 September 2023 review of submission by Headspaces

[edit]

I would like to rename this page to: Alberto Valdés (artist). Headspaces (talk) 02:52, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Headspaces: if/when the draft is accepted, it will be moved to a disambiguated title anyway, since one already exists at that title. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:04, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

12:19, 26 September 2023 review of submission by Jesse Paul Blue

[edit]

Working on references and links. Don't know if all the persons mentioned need to be reference and have links Jesse Paul Blue (talk) 12:19, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jesse Paul Blue: I'm not sure what you mean by "all the persons mentioned", but basically every material statement, anything potentially contentious, and all private personal and family details must be clearly supported with inline citations to reliable published sources, or else removed. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:24, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS: I'll post a comment on the draft page with suggested improvements, as this needs quite a lot of work. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:26, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just learning the ins and outs of creating an article. Going through edits as I get feedback. Not an easy thing to know all. Would definitely appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks! 2001:4645:F7CE:0:3031:E851:B7FA:9376 (talk) 15:48, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, what can I do to get this article approuved? GabrielG2023 (talk) 13:19, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@GabrielG2023: I'm quoting Yamla's message from your talk page:
"You have now been unblocked. You are required to start adhering to WP:UPE and WP:COI and are expected to refrain from writing directly about Widescape and anything else for which you have a conflict of interest."
Does that answer your question? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:28, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

14:00, 26 September 2023 review of submission by Lgadamo

[edit]

I drafted a biography for David Kass MD, a very prominent researcher in the field of Cardiology and the director of the Institute of Cardio-Science at Johns Hopkins University. The article was automatically rejected twice. I added references to Scopus (indicating an H-index >122) and several other references to websites that corroborate the information provided. The article was rejected again. I am writing to ask for assistance. The subject I am covering clearly passes the standards set in the Wikipedia guidelines about biographies of notable living persons I am therefore not sure why my article is being rejected.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Luigi Adamo Lgadamo (talk) 14:00, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lgadamo: just for the record, the draft has been declined, not rejected; the difference being, decline allows you to resubmit, rejection doesn't.
The draft states that this person holds a named chair at a major research institution, which would make him automatically notable per WP:NACADEMIC. That's in addition to the high h-index, as you say. So in that sense, I don't believe this was correctly declined.
However, I would have still declined it myself, only for a different reason: far too much of content is unreferenced, with entire paragraphs without a single citation. This is unacceptable in an article on a living person (WP:BLP). You need to ensure that every material statement, anything potentially contentious, and all private personal details are clearly supported by inline citations to reliable published sources. HTH, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:07, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Lgadamo. Did you read my decline notices? Your article was not automatically declined- I read the article and compared it to our criteria, and saw it failed WP:NACADEMIC.
The article clearly presents as a resume/CV, so that is contrary to WP:NOT.
Let's then go through your sources one by one:
1) A primary source, so useless for establishing notability
2) A primary source, so useless for establishing notability
3) This works as a source
4) Trivial mention, so useless for establishing notability
5) Does not mention Kass
6) A primary source, so useless for establishing notability
7) A primary source, so useless for establishing notability
8) This could work as a source, though it only mentions an award
9) This works as a source
10) A primary source, so useless for establishing notability Qcne (talk) 14:07, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PS: I may have found a reason for the lack of referencing. This seems to be a substantial copyvio of this source. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:11, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PPS: You also need to disclose your conflict of interest with regards to this subject. I have posted instructions on your talk page. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:36, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

17:11, 26 September 2023 review of submission by Manojsubudhi

[edit]

Why it was rejected, this article was for a company, and that company is on my name. Manojsubudhi (talk) 17:11, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Manojsubudhi: Wikipedia is a global encyclopaedia, not a marketing channel for your business or anything else. There was also no sign of notability, which is a core requirement for inclusion in the encyclopaedia. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 17:18, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

17:42, 26 September 2023 review of submission by JoeK2033

[edit]

The previous versions of this page were inaccurate; I wonder why he was listed as a musician. I want to build a page and link his artwork through Wikimedia. There are credible government sites with information relating to him. Seems like it was salted. JoeK2033 (talk) 17:42, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@JoeK2033 It is unlikely to be unsalted unless the draft article you envisage is both different from the deleted one, and is well referenced. He needs to pass WP:BIO, and be shown to pass it. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:47, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

19:50, 26 September 2023 review of submission by 178.204.251.52

[edit]

Why are the sources in the article not reliable enough? The article is based on the works of Vasily Radlov, Alexander von Bunge, Candidate of Historical Sciences Boronin, as well as on the basis of official documents published in the book "As part of the Tomsk Province: The History of the Altai Republic in the documents of the State Archive of the Tomsk region". 178.204.251.52 (talk) 19:50, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MR.UNEEQ1 (talk) 20:15, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MR.UNEEQ1 Wikipedia is not a social media website. Please carefully read WP:NOT. Qcne (talk) 20:17, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
